Three years ago we lost Glen Smoak (aka "Smoakingun") when a drunk driver tragically caused his death. His love and support for Lady Liberty was undeniable and he embodied the concept of "public virtue" in a way rarely equaled. He is sorely missed by all those who knew him.

His wife Christi survived the crash but continues to suffer serious medical problems as a result of her devastating and near fatal injuries.

The drunk who caused the accident was eventually convicted and sentenced to ten years in prison, the maximum allowed by law for her offense.

On Veteran's Day let's remember all our vets but especially our beloved Smoak. RIP my friend.
The American Constitution is remarkable for its simplicity; but can only suffice a people habitually correct in their actions, and would be utterly inadequate to the wants of a different nation.  Change the domestic habits of the Americans, their religious devotion, and their high respect for morality, and it will not be necessary to change a single letter in the Constitution in order to vary the whole form of their government. - Francis Grund 1837

I will miss Glen as long as I remember my own name, and look forward to the day when we meet again in His Kingdom.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit. Aristotle
