Greetings all and Happy Halloween,
Folks, as I end the 2023 season, I think back on this shoot and the great experience it was for all!
Weather, being the one variable that we cannot control and are totally beholding to, is always a Shoot Boss's dread, but this group, even facing both rain and a cold wind, persevered. I was proud of every one of you, thank you.
We gathered on a cold, damp morning to perfect our American Heritage of marksmanship and hear a bit of history, shooters new and experienced, all questing for their coveted Rifleman's patch.
Our Redcoat targets showed improvement through the day.

Shooters      100 Yard   200 Yard   300 Yard   400 Yard   HS   Cleared    shooters
Saturday AM   10                7              6                  3         1         1            10
Saturday PM   10                8              7                  2         4         4            10
Sunday AM   10                9              6                  2          3        1            10
Sunday PM          9                8              5                  6          3        2              9

Rifleman patches were awarded, four, in fact.  including Gibsonburg's first Adaptive Appleseed rifleman - or riflewoman, Kasey Beggs, good job Kasey. Kenneth Guttliep persevered in the rain and wind to gain his patch and father and son border raiders Dave and Noah Rose claimed their Ohio Rifleman patches, with Noah scoring a 210 and was dutifully blessed with the waters of the North Bridge.
And a new orange hat, Jacob Gramling, son of our own Topper, who was presented his hat by his proud dad. Good job Jacob, now get to work.
A full roster, with one exception for schoolwork returned for Sunday and marksmanship and fellowship continued to the last target of the day, where Pumpkins were carved to celebrate the season and we adjorned to meet again down the trails.

Thanks to all for a safe and enjoyable 2023.

What a great weekend for Liberty. We had high sons and daughters of Liberty from four states, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky. Congratulations are in order from our new riflemen, Kasey and Ken. Jacob stepped up and took an Orange hat.

Looks like a great event -- looks COLD!  brrrr.

Love seeing all the youth and especially the new orange hat!
It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan
