Project Appleseed

       
   As a new weekend began, eager Shooters descended upon Gibsonburg Ohio to partake of the firehose and learn the Appleseed way.
IIT Messer 454 and Instructors Cadence and Blindman (myself) journeyed to tell tales of Herritage and Marksmanship. 
Redcoats through the weekend were steady and improving. and the Ohio weather could not have been better. Messer 454 called the line with an exacting voice and attention to detail - great job Messer.
Cadence treated all to a fine rendition of the first strike, with Blindman picking up the second and third.
On Sunday, shooters were treated to an extended lesson on the 500 yard line.
While there were no patches handed out this weekend, I would like to acknowledge four youth who journeyed for to learn safe rifle handling, marksmanship and some of their heritage, and to one shooter who consistently turned in high scores on squares and AQT's - good job Scott.

It was especially inspiring to see the four young men striving to improve their marksmanship. Thanks everyone for a wonderful shoot.

It was good to see respectful, polite, enthusiastic, and most importantly, safe young shooters. They were all safe and listened to the instructors for the entire weekend.

A granddad making memories with his grandsons seems to be a thing of the past, so it was heartwarming to watch Mark and his two grandsons Paxton and Tripp. As well as mom Sarah and son Tim. this weekend was a family affair.

It was also great to see Appleseed alumnus Dale and his son Andrew.

Of course I can't leave out perennial favorite of Ohio shoot bosses across the state - ScottyO. It's always a special treat to have Scotty on the line.

Special thanks to shoot boss Blindman and ITT Messer454 for a fun and safe event. Also thanks to Appleseed alumnus Steve Thompson of ADCO firearms in Sylvania who brought out a genuine WWII BAR for people to experience. Everybody who got behind the BAR left with a smile on their face. As always a big shout out to the Sandusky County Sportsman's Club for letting us use their fabulous facility.
