Mrs. Smith

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to your Harvard, Mass IBC After Action Report.  I am your host, Mrs. Smith, and will be joined soon by my co-host, Lupis42!!

HARVARD! 5-23!

Now that we have THAT out of the way  :cool2:

All, I can't tell you what a pleasure it was to spend the weekend with the fine folks from the Northeast Region.  They took this desert rat in and made her feel welcome.

Lupis42, Luigi, The Old Guide, MattNH, Round Trip, Jake1918, 300Berg, nhalan, lesky, Seangn42, medved, RifleRabbit, HamGun, Christine, and Arwyn:

You folks have to navigate some unique challenges in your region. You, and the rest of the NE Regional team, do so with persistence, patience, and determination. Each and every one of you has a profound love of Liberty, and a willingness to tackle the obstacles in your path without letting those obstacles get you down.  For that, I salute you.  The birthplace of our nation is in good hands.  That was very evident during our Battle Road tour. As residents of the area, no doubt you've all traveled Battle Road more than once. And yet, I never once got the feeling that you'd lost appreciation and awe of the sacredness of the ground on which we walked.  I'm grateful to have been a part of it.

On to business!  Over the next couple of days several of us will be posting photos with captions of our weekend's activities.  I do hope you enjoy them.

Saturday dawned cool and rainy, and stayed that way. As a desert dweller, I'm perpetually happy for every drop of rain I experience.  It was pretty great.

It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan

Our enormous thanks to you Mrs. Smith for coming up and instructing!  I always look forward to bootcamps, because I always come away having learned a lot, and this was no exception.

Between 300berg and Lupis42 I don't really have any photos to add, so I'll say this:

It was absolutely incredible to conduct this IBC just a short drive away from Concord. I hope to have the chance to go there again someday.

These men and women are generous and dedicated to the Mission, with a deep love of Liberty and Servants' Hearts.  They love our country, and they love this program.  They are enthusiastic caretakers of our history in the very place where our nation was born.  Some days that's easier said than done, but they Persist, as Riflemen are wont to do.

For two long days they absorbed and practiced. They encouraged each other and built each other up.  I want to give special recognition to EVERYBODY!

Lupis42:  Sir, you were my Right Hand, calm and steady. Thank you for helping keep the IBC on track, and being the strong leader you proved yourself to be.

The Old Guide:  Your arrival was the best surprise of the weekend. Your presence was inspiring, and your quiet wisdom invaluable.

Luigi, MattNH, Jake1918, and 300berg:  As small group leads you were the standard bearers. Even when faced with a method not entirely familiar, you plowed ahead with open minds and willing spirits.  We could not have done this without you.

Round Trip: You're a role model for our Orange Hats, whether you realize it or not. It's not easy to learn new things, and your willingness to do so sets a strong example of how to leave your ego at the door.  And you made me laugh  :)

Lesky, nhalan and Seangn42:  Our Red-hats to be, you are all up to the challenge ahead of you, and I look foward to seeing Red hats on your heads soon. Not a doubt in my mind!

Our invaluable AppleCore!  Rifle Rabbit and HamGun - The NorthEast Region is fortunate to have you both! Dedicated AppleCore are PRICELESS, and you two are doubly so, with your wonderful attitudes and gentle spirits.

medved: the Brand-newest Orange hat!  You accepted your hat just a short time ago, and this was your first event since that day.  Your first IBC can be intimidating (I know mine was!) and you don't really know what to expect.  You stepped up and did a fine job!  The NorthEast Region cadre will take good care of you, sir, and I look forward to seeing you again when you've broken that hat in a bit.

Christine: You're knocking on the door of that Rifleman score, and I'm certain you'll get it soon. When you do. there is a hat waiting for you. Work with Lupis
and the rest of the Massachusetts crew, and you'll do well.  This weekend was proof of that!

Last, but not least, miss Arwyn.  I will never forget as long as I live watching a sweet 9 year old girl step up in front of a room full of grownups (and her big brother) and tell us about Mother Batherick and Prudence Cummings Wright.  I can't wait to see the photos of your first Appleseed as a shooter this summer!

Thank you all for working so hard this weekend, for your thoughtful questions, for your willingness to try new things, and for being awesomely you.
