6 instructors got together to do some KD.

Day started off raining but that was OK as I'd enlisted some helping on putting a barrel on my rifle. About the time we finished it stopped raining so perfect timing.

I then held up things getting my rifle zeroed. Wasn't even on the paper at 100 yards. 15 rounds later had a decent zero and we began.

All of the instructor requaled - except for me. I did well enough on 100 & 200. We then got to 300. I had a mildot scope I'd bought years ago and it's not what I normally use. It's a Leupold mildot and wasn't cheap.  Not sure how to describe my problem at 300 except to say once I got into position and was going to use some dots for hold overs I looked through the scope and then said to myself what the world? I thought my eyes had just went bad. There were dots, bumps, and 'squiggleys' all over the place on the reticle. I was stunned and didn't even get my first round off till about the 30 second mark. At 400 it was an educated guess. I did half way decent on the AQT but not expert. Afterwards I had several instructors look through my scope and verify - is it me or the scope. Well it was the scope. None of us had seen anything like it before. Kinda hard to describe without seeing it yourself. Will be sending back for a replacement.

All the others did very well. I sat out the next AQTs because - well scope.

The rain held off except for a light drizzle here and there so it all worked out well.

This was a fun event. And we made the most of a rain delay by barrelling up an AR. It's fun learning new stuff!
