It was a wonderful weekend at Palmerton Rod & Gun Club.  Enthusiastic students, excellent range and beautiful weather.  From early Saturday morning the Poconos rang with the Sounds of Liberty, as over half of our line were rocking center-fire ARs.  Due to the excellent student/instructor ratio the marksmanship improved steadily for most, and all were receptive to tales of our heritage.

A couple of students were unable to return Sunday, and they missed out on more beautiful weather and some excellent marksmanship.  Yankee Peas proved that instructors do more than "talk the talk", posting a few impressive scores on the AQT before earning his Distinguished patch with a 242 and clearing the final Redcoat of the weekend.  Donnie hung in there, piling up the hot brass before finally putting it all together with a 211.  A couple other students shot in the Sharpshooter range, but were unable to seal the deal before time ran out.  And Justin was a very active participant throughout the weekend, earning the William Diamond patch.

Many thanks to our wonderful host range, and to the instructors who represented our program with professionalism.

Thanks Earl. Looking forward to having you back up our way. Always great to see future Riflemen - and hopefully future instructors - out on the line working hard to improve.

Donnie went with the green Rifleman patch to match his sweet Geissele 40mm green rifle. A solid choice!

Thank you all so much for the great experience. All of the instructors and students were amazing! I signed up John and I for a birthday present to him. He kept talking about the amazing history lessons learned during the weekend. He also bought Paul Revere's ride Saturday night after your recommendations. I have already been talking up the Appleseed to my coworkers, I told them I would definitely take the class again. As mentioned in another post, the green rifleman patch was the only color choice to match the 40mm green of my Geissele! I already brought out my Mantis dry fire to work on the seated shooting position, gotta work to improve.

This was my first rifle class, it certainly did not disappoint! I'm thinking the pistol Appleseed needs to be something I do in the near future. I have taken many pistols courses, but based on this Appleseed course, I think the pistol one will blow them out of the water.

I hope to see you all again in the future!
