Has anyone tried the new ammo from AAC? Significantly cheaper than the Sierra Match King loaded version. Still claims to be open tip match. 55 CPR vs 75CPR may be worth it.

If you are buying for Appleseed KD XM193 is more than good enough.  For other uses your mileage may vary.
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery

I can't say anything about the 77 grain stuff, I have been buying the 75 grain as it's a bit cheaper. It shoots WONDERFULLY! I have a 16" SPR that will shoot it 1/2 MOA out to at least 500. I've shot several groups at 300 on steel that are pretty much just stacked on top of each other. It's really good stuff.

They use the Hornady match bullets- that 16" SPR- HATES Sierra's- no idea why but it will not group any of the Sierra match bullets under an inch. It really loves the Hornady stuff which is why I bought this ammo in the first place.

I picked up a bunch of it since it was cheaper than just about everything else out there - it shoots MOA or better out of a Green Mountain 1/7 twist barrel.  Just in time for my KD shoot next weekend!  The difference in drop between it and 55 or 62 grain ammo is pretty steep, so it'll be interesting.

I have not purchased AAC ammunition.

Following various interweb discussions, some people have great results.  Others have had quality control issues.  If you do purchase, please do a cursory check and ensure that none of the bullets are overset in the cartridges.  If you find issues, do not fire and contact the manufacturer.

I'm neither promoting the company nor am I attempting to dissuade.  Even if the rumors are true, plenty of great companies have had an "oopsie" batch.  Just something to keep in mind here.

You might want to take a look at this from Stand 1 Amory:

https://stand1armory.com/product/stand-1-armory-223-62gr-reman/

It's good stuff. Guy that owns the company is an Appleseed Instructor. And the guys running the machines are instructors too. While it's remanufactured don't let that scare you. That's because the guys running the company are shooters and care about accuracy.

If interested give NJRefugee a PM - he will give you a discount if an instructor. Enough to cover shipping.

Lots of us here are using it with good results. I get about 1.25 mos with a plain Jane PSA rifle. Could prob do better but most likely me.

And as mentioned the drop is going to be way more with 75/77 gr. The 62gr I've been using from Stand 1 is pretty much the same drop as the 55gr.

I use a BDC reticle so that's kinda important to me.

The times I've used 75/77gr with the BDC what I've done before to make things work is get a good 100 yard zero. And then give the zero about an extra 1.5 moa up. And then things pretty much worked well. Although a bit high at 100 and 200 after giving it the 1.5 moa extra that doesn't matter much to me since standing/sitting just isn't all that easy for me. And at 300 & 400 it pretty much matches the 55gr trajectory. Of course that all depends on the ballistics of whatever heavy ammo you're using. But you can figure it out with a bit of work.
