Captain

It was the last weekend of April and a great group of Appleseeders came out to the Monticello Sportsman's Club to embrace our American heritage of Liberty and rifle marksmanship. Like every event taking place in April, we also made it special in commemoration of April 19th, 1775. It's  still spring up north and we were treated to some cooler temps and a good dose of wind on Sunday; there may have even been a few flakes of snow blowing around on Sunday morning! By the end of the weekend, tremendous progress was made by all the shooters. We managed to mint a new Rifleman despite the conditions and a few Instructors worked on shooting in the wind and requalifying rifleman. We also had one shooter clear the challenging Redcoat target at the end of the weekend on Sunday. What a great way to wrap things up! More details to follow, but I thought I'd start with a quick group picture we managed to capture on the first day.  [click to switch to full size]

What an incredible honor this weekend was! Thank you to all the instructors, and a special thank you to Captain for making the trek to the frigid north!

I'm so proud of each and every one of our participants. The improvement over the weekend, and the little "AH-HA" moments that we all shared were so cool to be a part of.

On the way home from every Appleseed I've thought to myself, "this is definitely where I'm supposed to be." This one, especially, cemented that for me. What an amazing organization to be a part of.

I could not have asked for a better group (fellow orange hats, red hats, and shooters alike) for my first Appleseed as an orange hat!

I look forward to seeing what the future brings for everyone, and hope to see you back at a future Appleseed   O0

What a great event!  Thank you to the participants, fellow instructors, and the MSC range.  As Captain stated on Friday, he has a habit of bringing better than the predicted weather for the events and he delivered, at least for a minute or two here and there  >:D

I have some pictures that I was able to capture.

Several of the cadre received their "10 Event" pins! Awesome job!

And I had to post this one :) When it's cold in Minnesota, it's important for the Line Boss to issue the "No Spooning on the Firing Line Command".
