Wow! what an excellent INDOOR pistol clinic at New Philly! the snow and cold did not bother us at all as we were comfy and warm indoors! Did I mention how nice it is to be shooting indoors in March in Ohio? Because it is really, really nice!

Friday set up started off with a healthy fueling of reubens! St. Patrick's day and all, we couldn't help it!

Everyone was so excited to get going Saturday morning that they all arrived early, so we set off with our safety brief and then on to shoot our morning redcoats. Results told us that we had some mixed shooters on hand, but all could use a bit of work.

With that, Meadow and Chico provided some excellent instruction on the fundamentals, including some in-depth tutorials to drive the concept of "grip" home to our students. This was followed up with our steady hold factors and 6 steps of firing a shot. Progress was slow on saturday, but the added lessons and drills helped drive the messages home.

One PQT was shot by the end of the day, with three students scoring. Jay with a 219, Mark with a 220 (r), and Val with a perfect 210. of course, results were held back until Sunday to allow the excitement to build.
The afternoon redcoat was shot, with improvement made by all, but specially Julie. Julie went from barely putting 7 rounds on PAPER for the morning redcoat to getting multiple hits in every tombstone! We look forward to you coming to visit us in June for another crack at it!

Sunday started with one shooter having to drop out due to something called snow and having to go plow the roads. those that came arrived to take the PQT grind by storm. a total of 9 PQT's were shot, with Val, Jay, Mark, Paul, and Scott all shooting very respectable Pistoleerâ„¢ scores. A quick fun drill broke up the fast and furious pace with Jay taking top honors.
Sunday final redcoats showed that the excellent instructor corps did their jobs well (surprising as the secret to Meadow's never lowering coffee level was discovered by him constantly adding water)!
A quick clean-up by all hands made a tiresome chore go very quickly, and before we knew it everyone was heading home to hearth and kin. Fueled for another month with Liberty.

Many thanks to all the students for coming and making a great weekend, the instructor corps (Meadow, Chico, Crazyduckhunter, Navy Shooter, and USEnterpriseCV6) for all your help. Finally, last not but certainly not least, our hosts, Tusco Rifle club!

Until next time!

Another great event at Tusco, many thanks to the club for their continued support!
I'll post my pictures after work.

I don't know about you, but I'd watch out for that USEnterpriseCV6 guy, he sounds pretty sketchy  ;D

Huzzah! It was a great weekend among some great fellow Americans. Thanks all around to the instructors, but an especially big thanks to Chico for helping Julie. Also, thanks to Tucso, always a great place for Appleseed. See ya'll again soon!
"The most natural and eligible mode of attack on the part of the people is that of detached parties of bushmen who from their adroitness in the habitual use of the firelock suppose themselves sure of their mark at a distance of 200 [yards]." - Thomas Gage, March 4th, 1775

"Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption
of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the
Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters." - Daniel Webster

"When all connection, upheld by commerce, with the mother country, shall cease, it may be suspected that an independency of her government will soon follow." - Thomas Gage

What a great time! My only complaint is that it had to end. Everytime I come to an Appleseed event I feel like I walk away understanding things I hadn't even realized I needed to know before. Meadow's method of teaching was simple enough not to overwhelm but still full of absolute gamechanging information. I can't wait to get back out on the range and run through some of these drills again. It was great seeing friends again and making new ones! Thanks to all of the instructors and especially Meadow and CWD40 for putting this together and making everything run smoothly!

Sounds like a great event! Congratulations to the Pistoleerâ„¢s!
