What an incredible "weekend!" Because this was a private event for a church safety team, we held this so that the participants could be free to protect their flock on Sunday! Huzzah! After putting up with a few light showers on Friday, we had a little wind until the front came through later Friday night. Friday was still a nice day, but Saturday was BEAUTIFUL! We had 9 shooters--one under 18 and a couple of adaptive shooters

It was amazing how good they started off! Everyone was on paper and the groups kept getting better and better. We had one Rifleman score (congrats, Will!) on his very first AQT! 230, folks! That's hard to beat on your first try! He also cleared the redcoat target both mornings!! His daughter, Mattie had great technique and was really shooting well! She received a brick of ammo from Waco Tactical Fitness' donation and, of course, her William Diamond patch.

One of our adaptive shooters, Jeff, scored a 208 his last AQT, and he received a special Saratoga quarter for his improvement and persistence!

Want to thank Dan and Christie for the sausage wraps on Saturday and the awesome challenge coins sporting the Armor of God, which they gave to all of the instructors. Also, a big thank you to all of the shooters for coming out and celebrating our history and heritage!

Thanks for teaching the church members.

Our DFW instructor from the DFW area called Gugisman has also taught church members that he knows. It's a church in Ft. Worth. The church that was in the news awhile back. 2019. Good thing one of the church members was packing. And knew how to use his pistol. Several were killed including the shooter.

Well and if that's not enough my brother-in-law is an assistant preacher at the Sutherland Springs Church. Right near you. That's the church were a madman killed 26 people. My brother-in-law wasn't there that day. But he knew bunches of the people very well. And again a good guy with gun, an AR, stopped the nonsense. But not before 26 people were dead. That was in 2017.

So dang I know people from both of those churches very well. So I'm glad to be able to volunteer to teach others about firearms.

Tim is spot-on!  This was a great group of shooters and students to introduce to the Appleseed Program.  Everyone was outstanding and a absolute joy to be around this weekend.  Thank you all for coming and we hope to have you back on the shooting line again soon!
