Project Appleseed

It was great to get back out on the line with some fine folks again to help facilitate one of the most American experiences on Earth, The Appleseed Weekend Shoot.

First, a little bit about our shooters: 80% of the Patriots on the line were immigrants who were naturalized American citizens, interestingly from places where there are, or have been in very recent history, severe freedom deficits. These are men who know, first hand, how inattention to the bulwarks of liberty can lead to those walls that protect human flourishing falling into disrepair or collapsing entirely. Very much like our founding generation, they recognize how delicate the flame of freedom is, that it requires constant vigilance, personal engagement, and sacrifice. They understand that if that flame is allowed to go out, humanity will, once again, be submerged in the darkness of the tyranny of evil men, where escape is neither certain, nor likely to be cheap in terms of blood or sacrifice.

Temperatures were in the 90's. One of our shooters was ~85 years old. He made every course of fire.

Many of our shooters had already made the pilgrimage to Battle Road.   

It was inspiring for us instructors to be around these folks.

We were able to give away one patch. Also had one requal. One gentleman was knocking on the door before we retired for the afternoon on Sunday.

lol - yeah. I've seen that too many times now. My daughter-in-law is from Indonesia and understands things better than all too many Americans. Others I have met and have lived under tyranny know all too well the price of freedom. It gives one a whole 'nother perspective on things. heh.

These shooters were an impressive group. Glad I was able to make the first few hours to meet them.
