Stuck pins on trigger pack on Ruger 10/22

Trying to take my 10/22 down to clean it.  The two smaller pins that retain the trigger pack to the receiver are stuck.  I tried pushing them with a punch.  Then I tried hitting the punch with a mallet.  I'm reluctant to hit it very hard as I don't want to mess up the scope I literally just got sighted in.  Any advise how to remove these pins without damaging the rifle?

Nevermind.  I just hit it with my purse a little harder and they broke free.

Many times those pins fall out when you turn the barreled action sideways. Odd that yours were so snug.

I  just picked up a receiver that had some paint(?) in the pin holes....rolled up some 1000 grit wet/dry paper and did a little sanding. Was able to push them in by hand, and they don't fall out when turning the receiver sideways.
"(Were) they nourished by your indulgence? They grew by your neglect of them. As soon as you began to care about them, that care was exercised in sending persons to rule over them, in one department and another…Sent to spy out their liberty, to misrepresent their actions and to prey upon them; men whose behaviour on many occasions has caused the blood of these sons of liberty to recoil within them."

Next time make sure to check that the hammer is cocked back
If the hammer is forward then the pressure of the hammer spring can cause the pins to bind.
