Anyone upgrade their Tippmann .22 trigger? The rep told me an Elftman will drop in, but at 249 bucks.... :P
Other trigger manufacturers suggestions or info on making the trigger more user friendly? A YouTube video showed a fellow doing some home smithing widening or honing some areas on the trigger parts, and spring replacement but I do not want to Jeff it up. Ideas?

Catch-10-22

I upgraded both of mine with this $40 option: https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/triggers-parts/triggers/ar-15-trigger-assembly-nickel-teflon-prod120778.aspx?psize=96 (while the kit is sold out, you can buy the trigger and hammer assembly for $20 each and use the parts that came with the Tippmann). There are a bunch of these "coated" triggers on the market from other companies as well. Mine are much smoother than the OEM trigger and both rifles have shot in the 240s.

I tried the Larue MBT and a Geissele SSA but they were not compatible with the safety.

Tennessee Beast

Mine has the Elftman.  Great trigger.  Got it used (I think) on ebay.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin, 1775

"A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is requisite; and their safety and interest require that they should promote such manufactories as tend to render them independent of others for essential, particularly military, supplies."  George Washington 1790

I just bought 2 Tippman m4 .22's and installed Larue MBT's.

The safety works with them both.

I have the generation 2 rifles.

They may have fixed the issue.

Pine Ridge Puma

I bought a Tippman when they first came out with the dedicated and embossed Appleseed version two or three years or however long ago it was.  I have always thought the trigger was quite acceptable and did not ever feel the need to "upgrade" it.  It has been used as a loaner at several seeds and I've never had any negative feedback on the trigger being bad.  In fact, everyone seems to have liked it a lot, and especially the way it has always eaten about any kind of ammo with very few issues.  The only mod I've done to it is fabricate a block for the buttplate, so the length of pull can be extended.  With the collapsible  feature, it is still plenty short for younger shooters.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them,  and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I just sent a note to Timney Triggers to ask. There's a Tippmann Arms M4-22 group on Facebook, and they have some notes on this.

TriggerTech has a couple drop-in 2-stage adjustable triggers - may want to give them consideration

Aliquippa, the LaRue MBT-2S is $99 and in stock right now -- if you're still pondering.  The install takes some patience vs a cassette trigger, but not that hard.

If you want to try a nickel-boron slick coating milspec trigger, I have one that is the Palmetto State Armory in-house version, from one of my lowers.  I'd ship it to you for postage.  I haven't done any polishing or stone work to it, it's bone-stock.  It's smooth but the pull is probably around 6.5-7 lbs guesstimate.

Just my $0.02 for whatever it's worth.

I regularly score in the 240s on the AQTs with this rifle, using a stock trigger.  I don't know that the trigger needs replacement.

A little late to the thread but I've been running a drop-in CMC trigger pack in mine for quite a while.

Inexpensive upgrade with a noticeable difference, drop in a ALG QMS with the Tippmann springs.  It's not match grade, but it's also a fraction of the cost.
