Project Appleseed

The North Texas Friday Pistol Clinic was the kickoff event for the follow-on Pistol IBC at the amazing Goin Firearms & Shooting. The range owner/proprietor Paul Goin has to be one of the most Appleseed/Liberty-supportin' folks in the country; and that's sayin' a LOT! When this event came together at the last minute, finding a range was never in question with Paul in the picture. And he was way more than just the range owner and event host; he spent most of the weekend down on the line with us being part of the event and even adding in a few relevant stories with some "real-life" considerations to our pistol discussions. Anyway, just a fantastic venue for any Appleseed event!

KProctor originally put this event on the schedule to give a few Appleseeders a chance to see a pistol clinic prior to the Pistol IBC over the weekend, but this ended up being a premier get together in it's own right. Eleven of us got together to go through a complete One-Day Pistol COF and EIGHT shooters either qualified or requalified. That's some pretty fine shootin'!

There was one Pistoleer™ who was a little quiet coming off the line. Apparently, she was disappointed in her PQT since she missed a couple. It turns out what she called a miss was just a shot outside of the perfect 5 "tombstone". Despite her "misses", Gigi was still "Top Gun" on Friday with a 240! Wow, talk about setting the bar high for the rest of us!

By the end of the day, many shooters were experiencing shrinking group size with half shooting a Pistoleer™ score. It was a great day on the range and a fun way to get warmed up for the Pistol IBC starting the next day.
