Another fabulous event at the Goin' Firearms & Shooting range in Muenster, TX!

Seven shooters showed serious skills  ;D  Perhaps it was the cold front that came through - high temperatures were only in the upper 90s - but this group started out strong and just kept getting better.  Our very own MRAKESTRAW presented the points of instruction for steady hold factors, the six steps of firing the shot, natural point of aim and more throughout day 1.  We finished strong with the first AQT of the weekend.  Day 2 we continued with a total of five AQTs.  Between those AQTs shooters were introduced to some of the key concepts behind Known Distance events, as well as multiple Dangerous Old Men and Brave Women stories with KPROCTOR.  CAPTAIN was able to join us for day 2 and presented a fantastic lesson on Dr. Warren for us.  JOE BAUERS and APPRENTICE CARPENTER did a fantastic job of helping with instruction, clearing the line and keeping everyone safe.  ALEX RUSHIN' did a particularly excellent job of one-on-one coaching with our brave participants.

By the end of the weekend we had THREE new riflemen - two of which were consistently scoring above that coveted 210 mark.  Our other rifleman was rocking a 60 year old tube-fed, iron sighted rifle  :cool2:  Way to go!  We were also able to get two instructors down on the line and re-qualify - continuous training for the win!

Oh, right.  One other thing - MRAKESTRAW decided that he was tired of the orange instructor in training hat, and was ready to step up for a spiffy new full-instructor red hat.  We decided to go ahead and allow everyone on the firing line to retire that orange hat with prejudice.  A 13 round volley of prejudice, to be precise.  :snipersmi

Thanks for coming out everyone! Everyone did exceptionally well, especially Pat who made rifleman with his Remington Nylon 66! I hope to see all of you at the known distance at the same range in November later this year.
