What a great weekend to spend at an Appleseed event!

It looked like the weekend was going to be the complete opposite of the original forecast. Saturday started with a heavy shower but was done by 7:30am and the rest of the weekend was clear and sunny. We had 4 students with us on Saturday and 5 on Sunday.

We learned a lot over the weekend and the students scores reflected that. We had 2 students with us that had not been to an event before and they made great progress. Keep practicing and we'll see you on the line in the future! Of the returning students, 2 re-qualified with Rifleman scores! Jay with 213, 213, 230, and 210 and Cesar with 216, 224, 225, and 219. Congratulations gentlemen!

Thank you to Deer Creek Conservatory Club for being gracious hosts. And, Thank you to Shadow870, Third Degree, and Headhunter for making the trek to Jonesboro to help instruct!

Thank you to Charley and the Ohio crew that came out so we could benefit from top-level marksmanship training, lessons in heritage, and enjoyable conversations with you. You all were the most pleasant company and outstanding instructors.

Personally, I've been lucky to shoot quite a bit this year. And I've had plenty of high points shooting at different places in 2021. But this past Sunday was the most satisfying day I've had shooting this year. Really, it was a thrilling time. Can't wait to continue the Appleseed experience next year.

Now, Dave, let's get together at Roush Lake sometime to continue making progress on our respective Appleseed journeys.

Until we meet again to face down our next Redcoat target,

P.S. I know the instructors took quite a few pics, so let's see ‘em  :)

We had a terrific time.  Baptized again for my sqeaking in a 210.  Thanks to Steel Thindar and Corvette for planting the seed last spring about volunteering.   AppleCore may not be the same going forward.  I hope some got a Pic of my presentation Sunday.  I made some newfriends as usual.  A shout out to shadow870, Charley, headhunter, and third degree for making the trip across the line to put on a great program.

I hope to see all of you on the line at future events.

This past weekend was a very fun event, and a great change of venue for me. The Deer Creek facility is very nice.

Many thanks to the students! You made the instruction part of the event interesting with your insightful questions and comments. Congratulations to Jay and Caesar for consistently re-proving their marksmanship skill. And, a very special welcome to Jay, who took the Blue Hat. We look forward to seeing you on the trail.

Our review of the April 19 history was enhanced by Jay, who himself is a descendant of a Revolutionary War veteran. Dressed in period clothing and carrying a flintlock rifle, Jay let us in on his personal heritage. Very well done!

Shadow870 has a great presentation on the first strike. I intend to borrow liberally. Keep up the great work.

Thank you Charley for another well run and very safe event. Headhunter and I enjoyed the experience. We are now official cross border raiders.

Learned a lot.  Had some "Aha" moments that I hope I can translate in to better shooting.  Thanks to Charley and crew for the extra special help!
