A great appleseed weekend in the rear view mirror, give you time to reflect on the wonderous nation we find ourselves so fortunate to be in, and the history left for us.
Six eager riflemen to be journeyed to Gibsonburg, braving posted weather reports of high 80's to 90's to learn their heritage and marksmanship. The Ohio crew were glad to see them. Among the eager shooters were alumni and enthusiastic beginners.
the Red Coats told a tale of improvement and enthusiasm

Chip-n-dale, returning to Gibsonburg with his son, cleared a redcoat and was awarded his Ohio patch, and Tim, husband to Black swamp Betty won his cherished Rifleman's patch after so many years cheering on and loading magazines for Becky - Great Job Tim and Dale.
Steve Thompson, Gibsonburg AS alumni graced us with his presence on Sunday with a welcome break from the grind, in the form of a Thompson SMG and a German G-36 rifle.
Steel was rung on the 500 yard  range as the shooters put their newfound skills to practice,
It was a fine weekend, and I was glad to award both Dale and Tim their patches, as for the rest of my eager company, I know you will succeed with perseverance, down the trail.

A small but determined group returned to the Sandusky County Sportsmen's club to hone their marksmanship skills and listen to the stories of our heritage.

Tim showed his skills on the first AQT of Sunday by shooting the rifleman's score and getting his patch. HUZZAH!

Dale cleared the final Redcoat on Sunday to earn the Ohio state patch. CONGRATS!

The other shooters showed marked improvement over the course of the weekend despite temps in the 90's.

Thanks to Steve Thompson of ADCO Firearms in Sylvania, OH for allowing us to shoot some of toys and especially shooters Tim and Jerry for donating the ammo for those who wanted to shoot those toys.

Also a big thanks to Shoot Boss Blindman, instructors OHLaw and Third Degree for a safe weekend.

Special shout out to the Sandusky County Sportsmen's Club for hosting and allowing us to use their newly constructed covered firing range.

"A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the
whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they
lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader."
