To all the attendees,

We had a great WinterSeed event this past weekend at Central Ohio Coon Hunters near Carroll, Ohio.  We had 20 motivated shooters show up ready to work on their Marksmanship skills in challenging conditions. The weather on Saturday was typical Ohio winter weather.  Snow showers fell all day and the temps were in the 30's.

The shooters all arrived on time (with one exception-one shooter had some interesting experiences with the icy roads) and we proceeded with the normal welcome and safety briefing.  Rifles were brought to the line and we moved on to shooting the morning Red Coat.

The results were impressive.  We had:
12 who put all three rounds in the 100yd target, 8 at 200, 5 at 300 and 3 at 400.  We had 4 who hit the shingle and we had 1 who cleared the Red Coat.  Congrats to Forest.

After the Red Coat, we moved onto the instructions on the Steady Hold Factors in prone, the Six Steps and NPOA instructions.  These were followed by related shooting drills to allow the shooters to apply the instructions.

Groups were shot and at lunch we presented IMC to work with the shooters on calculating their sight adjustments. Also at lunch, the First Strike was presented.

We returned to the line after lunch, made sight adjustments, shot confirmation groups and had a second session of adjustments and confirmation group shoots.

We were then able to move on to instructions on the steady hold factors in seated and standing followed by related drills.
Saturday ended with the team shooting a practice AQT followed by the Saturday PM Red Coat.  Scores were impressive and showed great improvement.

Of the 22 shooters, we had the following:
18 of 22 at 100, 12 at 200, 7 at 300, 9 at 400, 9 joined Daniel Morgan and we had two cleared Red Coats.  Congrats to AKA and Rob.

Sunday dawned overcast, cold and snowy.  We opened the day with a review of the safety rules and the POI's. Once were back on the line, we shot the morning Red Coat.  Results were impressive.  We had 19 of 25 put all three rounds in the 100yd target, 15 at 200, 11 at 300, 7 at 400, 10 joined Daniel Morgan, and 4 cleared their Red Coat.  Congrats to Scott, John, Chewie, and Mel on your cleared Red Coats.

After an NPOA drill, we moved on to the AQT.

We broke for lunch on Sunday after the first AQT where the Second Strike was presented.   We returned to the line to shoot three more AQT's.  The Third Strike and the call to action was presented at the end of the day Sunday and the event came to a close.
We had a great group of shooters qualify for their Winterseed patch on Sunday.  We had a total of 14 qualifying scores shot on Sunday.  They are as follows:

AKA      218, 218, 221
Chewie      230
Chief Lane   213, 224, 215
Rob      220, 219, 227
Roger      212
John M      241, 237, 236

There were many others knocking on the door to qualify.  What a great group of shooters we had the pleasure of working with this past weekend.

We ended the event with the Sunday PM Red Coat.  The results were positive.

We had 15 of 22 at 100, 12 of 22 at 200, 10 at 300, 9 at 400, 10 joined Daniel Morgan, and we had 5 cleared Red Coats.  Huzzah!
The day ended with a combined Third Strike followed by a Call to Action to all the shooters.

Our thanks also to Central Ohio Coon Hunters for hosting our event and my thanks to Cadence, Cactus Jack, Meadow, Vic, Chewie, Shawdow870, and Commo Cowboy for helping work the line at this event.
