Project Appleseed

This was the first of what may be a regular Summer activity for Palm Bay. The weather was typical for early Florida Summer with a pleasant Heat factor of 89 degrees, thanks to the overcast and light breeze. We started just before 8:00 and wrapped up at 12:30. A half-day allowed us time to shoot some and demonstrate skills. The POI was tailored on the spot for the needs of the attendees--all experienced Appleseeders. The invitation was open to anyone who had attended a two-day event but this time it was an assortment of hat colors.

Four of six requalified on the AQT. The other two had just resumed shooting for the first time after being on medical restrictions for several months. A couple more trips to the range and they'll be shooting Rifleman scores again. The three Orange Hats completed Progress Checks to earn a promotion. Yankee Davey to IIT4, Timmah to IIT2, and Sunflower Sue to IIT1. Huzzah!

Everyone that attended asked to repeat this format until we resume regular two-day events in October. See you on the line next month.
