"Navy SEAL Sniper Instructor, Chris Sajnog, teaches you how to get perfect front sight focus. Do not underestimate the importance of focusing on the front sight!" Some very interesting techniques and drills you can do on your computer, and perhaps integrate into teaching.

* Marking a thin white line on the front sight post to draw your focus and contrast against the target (3:55)
* Optical allusion drills to prove eye movement and eliminate it:
   - Spinning wheels stopped (5:02)
   - Vanishing/Fading background visuals when focused (7:20 stop the video and get close to your screen here, took me some effort)
   - Dots on a grid changing from white to black to another color, frozen (8:40)

For these old eyes, I opted for an old set of small reading glasses that give me optimal focus on the top edge of the front sight on M1 and M4 iron sights. For open-sights on some of my rifles and my pistols, I add the Lyman Eyepal to the lens just to be able to initially line up the top of the front and rear sight and then see the edge of the target downrange for a six o'clock hold.

Pretty cool video.  The moving dots thing is autokinesis, which gets talked about a lot in instrument (pilot) training.  I never connected it, though, with shooting. We talk a lot about focus on the front sight, but I do like the illustrations in the video that show what it looks like.  Thanks for posting the link!

HA! You hit a great resource. I was having a huge issue with my pistol shooting and then I saw the video.
It helped me two big ways:

1.  Once I saw the video i tried the thin white line on my G17.. Home Run!!
2.  Once i saw the consistent elevation of my scores, I learned #2. I am an 50 yr old man and I realized i needed help with my glasses.
Umm,, i am pistol consistent at 25 yards now.

Thanks for sharing.  I was concerned that my eye condition would affect my watching.  It didn't affect it very much.
In giving us dominion over the animal kingdom, God has signified His will that we subdue the beast within ourselves.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin, 1775

"A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is requisite; and their safety and interest require that they should promote such manufactories as tend to render them independent of others for essential, particularly military, supplies."  George Washington 1790

"[T]o preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them…"
