Greetings all.

There is some interest in precision rifle discipline here and even some of the instructors are working to provide some guidance and even holding shoots. What I'm doing with this thread is to provide my own work and experience on the topic. What I'm not trying to do is suggest this will be a widespread huge draw for the Project Appleseed and I honestly don't think it needs any kind of standardization. We know very well what we are about.

First I will post the material.

Thank you for making all this info available.
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery

Most of the day is actually spent at 25 yds (actually it's 71'8"). That target is an 11X17 1/4'" grid with 5 X's sharpied on it. I use an X because it is more precise for a scope. One target centered and the other four in the corners. I spaced them 44 squares vertically and 20 squares horizontally, but that spacing doesn't really matter.

The long range part of the afternoon is restricted to 200 yds as that is the maximum range at the club. The target I use for this is a 200% sized AQT with a Shoot and See target in the upper right for sighters. Only 5 rounds per stage are fired and scores are tallied as normal and then doubled.

The positions are as follows.

The least stable was barricade position. The shooter had to use a table laid down on its edge for support and were not allowed to put their butts on the ground. If they had extra sand bags or shooting pillows they were shown how to use them to steady the position up. This was used while Legacy shooters were standing.

The intermediate postion is the benchrest, which sounds odd but if not correctly done, it is not too stable and your zero will be different. This is used while Legacy shooters were seated.

The most stable is of course prone. This is used for rapid and slow prone.

TaosGlock does at least one of these each year at the NRA Whittington Center. He's a good resource.

I print these out on three hole paper and give them to the shooters bound in a plastic 3-prong folder. If I manage to get them to the shooters early they can prepare better.

The order I bind them in is:
1: worksheet
2: set-up
3: SHF
4: Six Steps
5: NPOA
6: Field procedure
7: Appendix
