"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

I just picked up two fine 1022s last Saturday at a show. Two of the mags that I got were well fouled, so I took them apart and cleaned them, sans any instructions. I think I did well enough.

The only thing I did differently than in this excellent video, was the pre-tensioning. Using a new mag as a guide - I felt that I needed nearly two full turns of the mag body to get the same tension, once assembled, as the new mag. Should I go back and reduce the pre-tensioning to "8 notches", which looks more like a single full turn?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I will look for tech sights and mag releases today, to have both rifles ready for the Hernando event as loaners.

I've always just sprayed them clean with gun scrubber.
