Heading out to the range for setup! Amazing weather for January this weekend. Sorry for anyone chasing an icicle patch though...  :-[

Ferndale

Brought both my sons and had a really great time.  Knocking on the door of a badge.  Hopefully next time...

Congrats to Supertrooper who earned his red hat, and thanks to all the instructors, Caliper, Twolf, Mr. Surplus, Critterkeeper, and #6.

Superheat

Ferndale, It was good to see you and the boys.  Keep working and you will be wearing that rifleman patch in no time.

Lefty Tom, Congratulations my friend.  Now I need to buy a new rifle... Unless I invoke the technicality that I didn't actually see it.  :)

Lefty Tom

Thanks to all who work hard to make it happen! Fun times to be had as always! :---

Super Heat- thanks! The takedown certainly is not for everyone, but I've finally demystified it. I still need to work on honing my own skills, especially the transitions; But I am confident now that if I do my part the takedown can easily shoot a rifleman's score. Also worth noting - i cleared the readcoats both mornings with a cold, freshly cleaned and assembled carbine without any warm-up shots, scope adjustments, or holdovers.

Congrats again super trooper! It was fun helping you celebrate your promotion to a red hat!

Too bad the weather was so nice, lol. Icicles certainly showed up the very next day... oh well. Next time!

Super Trooper

Wow what a weekend for an Appleseed.  January in Michigan with sun and warm weather (at least for this time of year).

Congratulations Tom on scoring rifleman, it was great seeing you at a couple shoots working steadily to break 210.  Sounds like we'll see you on the KD line shortly.

Sam you won't be far behind in earning your patch, and it was fun having Max and Zeke out this weekend.  I don't think I've ever seen such energetic young shooters who cheered at history breaks.  Hats off to the next generation of young patriots.

Lastly,  :pics:
The hardest distance to shoot is the six inches between your ears.  It gets easier when you get out of your own way.  Self doubt and negative self talk have no place on the firing line.
Once a shot is gone... good or bad, it is gone.   Focus on the next one. Make forty good first shots.

Awesome weekend!

Lefty Tom - thanks for coming out and for bringing the family along. It was nice to see your focus and dedication on the firing line pay off with a patch.

Sam - it was good to have you back, brother.  You're making good progress, just need to get you out more to practice! I'm happy Zeke got to join us this time - both the boys were great.  I've got some awesome slow-motion shots of them firing the musket.

Trooper, congratulations on your red hat - I'm glad I got to be there for that. I've got a few pics in the album below, but forgot to snap a pic of your bullet-riddled orange hat.

Thank you to the entire instructor crew for your hospitality at LCSC and for helping me learn the ropes.  It was great spending the weekend with you.

Thanks for everyone who came out to make this shoot happen!

Tom, great to see you get over the hump and get that patch!
Sam, You're right on the edge of that Riflemans patch. Better hurry up before Max beats you!  ;D
Max, great job shooting from the sling and congrats on cleaning that Redcoat target!
Zeke, great to see you shoot at your first Appleseed event, keep it up!

Sorry, I usually get a bunch of pics of everyone on the line but not so many this time...

Sure don't need that orange hat any more!
