While practicing in slow fire prone (dry fire) on the SCATT system last week, my 8 y/o daughter was pretty amazed that I was "Calling the shot" prior to the score coming up on the SCATT laptop screen.

SO...., she is expressing interest.  I have 2 Ruger 10/22's that are modified for Appleseed stuff.  But no "youth stocks".

After some research, the Savage Rascal has a 11.25" LOP.  The Magpul X-22 stock can be adjusted down to a 12.5" LOP.  Difference of 1.25".

I ordered a Magpul X-22 stock this morning.  Hoping it will work for her.  She is 4' 9".  For those that have children, or anyone else that may know...what would be an approximate length of pull that would work for someone 4'9"?

My intent is to get her into Prone, on the SCATT system.  For those of you that have a SCATT, what would be a good target to use in the SCATT to mimic the AQT shot at 25M?  I'm guessing one of the small bore targets, but I am unsure.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Mossberg half-pint 802 is a nice little bolt.  The current price is way higher than I paid in 2012.

The Blackhawk Axion stock is awesome.  Wish I had known about it before I bought the ATI stocks for my girls.

There is always the factory Ruger club after it meets the band saw, files and rasp.
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery

The MAGPUL X-22 stock came in this Friday.

Removed the "spacers" on the back of the stock...and also removed the recoil pad as well.  Recoil pad takes away about 1/4 inch.  I may just put it back on...as it looked to be a good fit for her.

My 8 y/o daughter can get an excellent cheek weld and sight picture in standing.  She is right up on the rear sight (tech sight) when in prone.

I'm very happy with the X-22 stock.  Had no issues installing the barreled action at all.

Now that I know how to load up pics, here is one of my 8 yr old daughters with her rifle.

Eye relief and stock length are perfect for her!

SO...., MAGPUL X22 Stock Update:

Rifles are complete, where MAGPUL makes $$ is in the accessories one can procure for this stock.  It comes with NO FWD sling attachment point.  The rear of the stock has a clip attachment point, similarly to what is on the UBR stock.  It is not ideal.

I ordered the MAGPUL M-LOK QD sling attachment, and was not impressed.  Not to say it won't work..., but being that it is a plastic stock, I have reservations about competing with that.

Ordered the sling studs from Magpul.  Using a drill bit, I step drilled the pre-dimpled hole up on the forearm, and then used a tap to "Start" the threads for 2-3 turns.  I then used an allen wrench as a T handle...and got it in TIGHT.  It ain't going no where.

For the rear attachment point, I went with the QD Cups Magpul sells.  Those are fine for rear attachment point.

Figured I'd update.
