Is the swivel set sold at the Appleseed Store (AS920) compatible with the Barrel Band screw on a standard Ruger 10/22?
Only want to drill the one hole at the back of the stock.
If not, any recommendations for a source?
Thanks.

Yes and no. You will need a barrel band adapter for the Sling Swivel Set to hang from. This thread has pictures https://www.northwestfirearms.com/threads/best-ruger-10-22-sling-option.40211/

However, you will need 1-1/4" loops like Appleseed Store (AS920); 1" won't work.

I find that the barrel band sling swivel adapters pull down and deflect the barrel, and therefore recommend installing a swivel in the stock.

I agree totally with FiremanBob. But if you're determined to drill the one hole at the back of the stock, and not the front, that's your option.

Before you drill measure twice.

Before you measure figure out where you want to mount the studs. I like the rear stud 1" to 2" from the butt as this gives me the most sling/body contact in a hasty sling.

The front stud is more complicated.

Get into prone and decide where you want your support hand. Get your elbow under the rifle and move the hand back and forth until you find where it works best. Now mark 1" in front of your hand and this is where you drill. This will let the sling work as a stop as well as a sling.
