Hmmm...will be interesting to see the price point compared to any of the other options...and if it is worth it compared to the $20 Volquartsen target hammer alone

Ruger Announces the Launch of the BX-Trigger for Ruger 10/22 and 22 Charger Pistol

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR) announces the launch of the BX-Trigger™: a light, crisp, "drop-in" replacement trigger assembly that is compatible with all Ruger® 10/22® rifles and 22 Charger™ pistols. The BX-Trigger is a Genuine Ruger Factory Accessory and is the perfect upgrade for all 10/22 rifles and 22 Charger pistol models because of the significantly reduced pull weight of approximately 2.75 pounds (versus 6 pounds on the standard 10/22 trigger).

"We have made continuous improvements to the 10/22 over the years, but the BX-Trigger is an exciting performance advancement," said Ruger President and COO, Chris Killoy. "The BX-Trigger was designed for easy installation, superior performance, and legendary Ruger reliability. Like the popular BX-25® magazine for the 10/22, the BX-Trigger will deliver the excellence and value that shooters have come to expect from Ruger."

The BX-Trigger is sold as a complete assembly that "drops in" to replace the existing trigger assembly, with no additional adjustment or "fitting" required. A video of the installation process can be found at Ruger.com/BX-Trigger

Beginning December 19, the Ruger BX-Trigger will be available for purchase directly from Ruger at ShopRuger.com or from local independent firearms retailers.

I think it depends on what else they do. 10/22s have more problems than just the trigger in the trigger pack.
The Volquartsen trigger pack fixes three things: trigger, bolt hold open, and mag release. The trigger is perfect,
the bolt hold open is easy to use and disengages by pulling the bolt back and letting fly, and the mag lever is good.

If Ruger JUST does the trigger, then it won't be worth what they will want, which is probably 75 to 100 bucks.
If they do do all 3 things, and they ask less than the 225 Volquartsen wants for theirs, then it will be a winner.

I'm no fan of race guns, but, to me, the perfect Appleseed blaster is a 10/22 with a wooden stock, barrel band sling
mount in front and stud-loop in the rear, loop sling, a good scope, and the drop in Volquartsen pack. My first 10/22
has all that, is ugly as sin due to abuse in a prior life, and was first owned by a man named George Washington Anthony Adenolfi,
who born on Washington's birthday and named appropriately.

I have a VQ pack. It's light, but nothing is as good as a Kidd trigger. The design of the hammer-sear interface is unequalled in the 10/22 aftermarket universe.

I read that the BX trigger will have an MSRP of $90, street price around $70. I hope to get one to review on the blog. I'm currently working on an analysis of the Kidd full trigger group; it would be neat to make it a comparison test.

I ordered one this morning.  $89.95, no tax, and free shipping.  To me, it's worth a try at that price.

I got one.

Hopefully this helps:

•$89 each. Free shipping.
•I am no gunsmith, and it took less than 5 minutes to install. Super easy.
•This new trigger does not do the other common extra stuff mentioned above... it's just a replacement trigger.
•I don't have a trigger pull gauge, but I estimate the weight of this new trigger to be less than half of the original (nice and light).
•There is VERY little take-up.
•There is NO over-travel.
•The reset is VERY short.

This is a huge improvement over the factory trigger. Is it worth $89? Yes, it is to me.

Also, I sold my factory trigger group for $20, so the net price of this upgrade was only $69.
