Simply put, an amazing weekend of Patriotic fervor and marksmanship. Before I go any further, I would like to thank the PMSC for hosting our second Appleseed this year. Very nice ranges and great member support. THANK YOU!

Beautiful Western PA fall weekend, a bit chilly on Saturday but we all endured. Outstanding representation of America from 14 to 60+ years young male and female alike. EVERYONE had a very teachable attitude and the key word for the weekend was persistence. Luke came on slow but showed great improvement on Sunday. Phil was on his mark to the best of his ability and I hope he will come back to the next Appleseed. I can appreciate his situation as I am scheduled for knee replacement next summer. Karen was all about some shooting, very consistent groups and steady improvement especially considering she was new and shooting a bolt gun. Also very cool that we exchanged notes regarding our ancestors being part of the Revolutionary War. Now all she has to do is bring her husband up to speed.
Kathryn was a trooper dealing with scope issues but hung in to the bloody end and I am sure that she will be getting her Rifleman's patch soon. Glenn was the quiet Sunday guy who just showed up and qualified no less than  4 times, I hope he is on my side. Then we come to the Toms, like Dr. Suess there was a Tom A. and Tom B. kinda like Thing ! and Thing 2 but they were more like our resident old married couple. Much harassment and cajoling but at the end of the day they both qualified with big smiles and much back slapping. I also would like them to be on my side.

If you look up the word persistence in the dictionary, you would probably find Mike's picture there. I honestly did not think he was coming back on Sunday. Numerous equipment issues and 3 or 4 different rifles and he was exasperated. Luckily the most benevolent Shoot Boss (Me) loaned him a working zeroed 10/22 and lo and behold he also qualified. Mike also deserves great kudos for ironing out local range issues for the 300 yard range, Thanks MIKE.
Additionally, Project Appleseed has been blessed with our brother Klint. Not only did he re-qualify more times than I would have cared to score but he he also volunteered to take up an Orange Hat. He passed his ITT0 and is now an ITT1 Orange hat. More to the point, Klint brings a wealth of information and knowledge to Appleseed that is much appreciated.

Also I want to thank my fellow instructors and mentors, Wheeler, bcurfman, Stand and EZ3 for making being a Shoot Boss such an easy affair, you guys are the best! You may bow now!!

The weather was chilly, but there was some red-hot shooting going on!  Always a pleasure to spend a weekend with patriotic Americans sharing our heritage.  Hope the club will invite us back next year, because it's a great facility for Appleseed.

Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery

Those are very nice examples of horizontal, vertical, and diagonal stringing on the redcoat.  I'm assuming you did that for demonstration purposes.  Are you sure you don't want an orange hat?     >:D
