3 Day Labor Day Appleseed was fantastic, weather got muggy on Sunday and Monday but the shooters returned and persisted. We made 2 new Riflemen, of the 2, the youngest (14) became an Instructor in Training. We had 2 young ladies who had never shot rifles before. One of the young ladies drove from Atlanta to fulfill a friends idea of coming to an Appleseed, her friend moved to Europe and could not attend. We had 5 families attend, the kids all had a great time and all want to come back and shoot for the patch and some wish to help save our country.
Dusty old helmet, rusty old gun,
They sit in the corner and wait –
Two souvenirs of the Second World War
That have withstood the time, and the hate.

Mute witness to a time of much trouble,
