All in all, what an absolutely GREAT weekend with my fellow PATRIOTS at the last Appleseed of the season at the Clinton County Farmer's and Sportsmen's Association in Wilmington!  Again, a BIG thank-you to the club, and especially Carol and Tucker for the delicious meals and making us feel right at home.

What is an Appleseed without inclimate weather?   We had our share of heat, sun, rain, cloud cover, and there was even a light breeze at times.  The weather is beyond our control and there's nothing we can do about it.

Just come prepared.  Improvise, adapt, and overcome!  We did this with slings for some of the shooters..If we didn't have the USGI sling, we used what we had.

Improvement...we saw this all weekend.  The proof is on the paper.  GREAT JOB!

I appreciate the determination of the shooters who stuck it out all day Saturday and for those who returned on Sunday with the RAIN in the forecast until lunch!

So, until your next event, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE...  Don't get discouraged!  It takes the average of THREE Appleseeds to score a Rifleman score.  Do your homework.  Steady hold factors, six steps, NPOA.

Thanks to all the volunteer Instructors for your hard work and dedication to Appleseed, and to those who helped clean up after the event.  This made things so much easier on all of us!

Hope to see you all soon...and remember the Centerfire Match at the range in two weeks!

Feel free to post you pictures here.

Kudos to all the Appleseeders that attended this weekend! I enjoyed the experience of meeting an outstanding group of incredible people and working with you all. Continue to utilize newly learned skills, apply some perseverance and I look forward to seeing you all again along the Appleseed Trail!!

Cheers,

Huzzah, so great to have you in the Hat corp.   Great job and congratulations on your Orange Hat.

Also, did a young man named Joseph make it to the shoot?  He was with the family of four at Marion and wanted his patch, did he make it to the shoot and did he make Rifleman?

Thanks Corvette,

I look forward to making a positive contribution while providing the best riflemanship training and education about April 19, 1775 on this side of the Ohio River!

Joseph did make it out on Sunday with his father. As DGMilty described, it was raining fairly significantly in the morning on Sunday making it a very challenging shooting environment. Joseph did, however, make improvement throughout the day and I look forward to seeing both Joseph and his father get their Rifleman awards in short order.

Thanks again Corvette,

Hunter
