Great weekend spent with great Patriotic Americans. First off, a BIG THANKS to BVRPC for again hosting AS and donating the range time. As I started on the AS Trail at BVRPC, it has been nice to watch the improvements that they have made to the Training Range. Aside from the all important Porta-John, the parking area, French drainage and concrete steps are all welcome additions.
Though the shooters were few in numbers they made up for it with dedication and tenacity. All had teachable attitudes. Margaret and Doug were diligent in working out equipment issues and hung in throughout the entire weekend. The Redcoat numbers prove the point. Ken was on fire! He had already qualified previously but came back for more. He did an outstanding job re-qualifying and clearing a Redcoat. I bet he would look good in an Orange Hat. Instructor ratio was high, 2:1 so everyone got a ton of individualized attention.

Hopefully someone will attach pictures as I was busy chasing my tail as SBIT.

Thank you very much to all the instructors who took the time and effort to make this another great event. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot.

That was some nice shooting, Ken!  Hope to see you again, soon.    O0

Ken,
Glad you had a great time. Outstanding shooting and also a very teachable attitude. I am always amazed with what we can do if we have the right mind set.

Lee, could you go over the details  (again) of that insignia to the left of your post ?

EZ3

Sure!  Flying the flag inverted is an internationally recognized maritime distress signal.  Basically, it means "SOS".

Did you ask me that before?

No, I never asked before and I thank you for the reply.
However I was talking about the other Lee.
I got that patch for shooting a clean Red Coat and he told me about it at the time but when I got home I couldn't remember what he told me.

FWIW: I knew about the upside down flag.

"Other Lee" is probably busy prepping for the Appleseed in Salem, OH this weekend, so I'll answer for him.  The patch was created by another PA Appleseed instructor (SSgtPlatz) to recognize special achievements by students other than qualifying as Riflemen.  It's a "subdued" version of the regimental flag of the 1st PA Rifle regiment, one of the groups recruited by Daniel Morgan at the beginning of the war.  The original flag was maroon or burgundy in color, and the motto "Domari Nolo" means "I will not be subjugated".  Or something like that.
