The longest day of the year delivered as promised! Man it was HOT! But the heat didn't dampen the spirits of the 13 students, 5 Instructors and 2 range owners that assembled at Double Tap Training Grounds. Our gracious hosts, Butch and Kim, provided us with excellent air-conditioned facilities, including restrooms and a LARGE classroom, strengthening our resolve to "beat the heat."

I'd like to share a few of the high points during the weekend:
-The range owners were attending/hosting their first Appleseed.
-Of the 13 students, 10 were attending their first Appleseed.
-3 sibling sets and a married couple comprised over half our students.
-Heath cleared the first Red Coat of the event......using a loaner rifle.
-Chance out shot Heath on the final Red Coat of the event.....using the "coon gun".
-Nathan and Natalie smiled more than Ronald McDonald this weekend.
-Lee and Hunter took copious amounts of notes.
-Sunday, Alex knew every answer to every question, LITERALLY.
-Donna discovered the GI web sling can shoot 5MOA groups....unassisted.
-Kyle is looking to buy a few million rounds of Russian steel cased 5.56 ammo.
-Mr. Gadsden made several new friends and was not tread upon.

Finally, a hearty congratulations to our new Rifleman, Travis and our new IIT, Eddie! To all that attended, I count it an honor and a privilege to have been able to enjoy your friendship this weekend.

It was a hot weekend, but lots of fun at Double Tap Training Grounds!  Many thanks to the range owners Butch and Kim for their great hospitality. 

It was great to see so many patriots out on the line. 

I'm much better shooting with a rifle than a camera, but here are a few of my pictures:
