Eleven folks came out on Saturday to learn about their heritage and history,
and they even learned a bit of Marksmanship as a bonus!

Mostly first time Appleseeders, with a couple previous Appleseeders.

After dealing with equipment issues, rifle malfunctions, (you know... the usual stuff...)
we had a few knocking on the rifleman door. Jeremy shot a 194 on the second AQT. so close...

Sunday saw 8 returnees, and the morning redcoat showed promise.
After a set of Squares to check our sight zeros and group size, we did the Ball and Dummy drill, which was beneficial for most of the attendees.

The weathewr started getting hot, and we had no shade, but we still hit the AQT grind, and were making progress... slowly... We had a few qualify as sharpshooter over 170, and Jeremy got another close score (I left my notes in the truck)... I will post exact scores later...

We ended the day with no riflemen,  but emphasized the need for them to get invlolved, spread the heritage with everyone, especially the youth, and be a true rifleman by never giving up...

I have pictures, and will post them tomorrow after I downsize them for posting.

Please feel free to post your comments and fill in some of the blanks, everyone....

The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection   Thomas Paine

Proverbs 22:3  -  A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.

"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even when checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy, nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory or defeat".

What a great weekend in Sunland to participate in stories of our American heritage and marksmanship! It was great to see some returning guests-Jeff, Rory, and Tamara!!! Keep up the good work you guys and I know you will make Rifleman! We had first timers that absorbed all the information we gave out! Remember to dry fire at home everyone! Take the information from the packets and read it. A few of you we're asking about photos of the positions-check out "Becoming riflemyn" online. Hope to see all of you at another Appleseed in the near future!  :---
