Preparing for another weekend of Heritage and Marksmanship at Douglas Ridge Rifle Club.

Well, it's another Monday and 12 more American's have heard about the men and women of April 19th.

Virginia - 90 and shooting Appleseed; Huzzah!

Matt and Anna - keep working on those 6 steps - squeeze the trigger and follow through. Both of you showed great perseverance with your equipment; a key skill for Riflemen.

Jane - congratulations on your repeated riflewoman scores. It's not fluke - you put in the work and you made it; Huzzah! That new orange hat will be red in no time. Oh and did I mention 3 cleared red coats (she called line during the 4th)

Madison and Owen - both of you showed great skill this weekend (Madison shot in the 150's and Owen had some 3 MOA groups). A little more physical strength and practice putting it all together and that patch will be yours.

Travis - you've got mad skills with a rifle (perfect stage 1 & 2). I'm stunned we couldn't pull a patch out for you this weekend but I'm glad you have a reason to come back and bring the family again.

John - turkey neck and cheek weld are what's holding you back. Once you get that consistent cheek weld then your sight alignment will come together and you are going to be pounding out 230's all day long. 10 min stretching out in prone between now and April 12th and I'm sure we will be giving you that patch on your first AQT. Don't worry about stage 2 - stage 4 is where it's at.

Devin - Thanks for joining us on Sat. Sorry you couldn't make it back Sun. Remember to focus on that front sight. TechSights will also go a long way to help you in your quest for marksmanship.

Once again, thank you to DRRC and the club RSO's for letting us use the range. I hope you guys caught a few tips on the way and maybe next time bring a rifle :)

And of course to my staff - Kenjo, Prescott, Flipper; you guys are consummate professionals.

Congratulations on shooting your rifleman's score... repeatedly!  Well done. O0

Thank you for stepping up to take an orange hat as well. I look forward to working a shoot with you in the future.

I had a great time this weekend, Weather was awesome I'm so happy about another female instructor congrats Jane can't wait to see you in a bright orange hat :cool2:

And Madisons's score went up started out around 150 then 160 and I scored the final target at 180 ;D
I would love it if there was another youth instructor on the line

I helped Virginia most of the weekend can't believe she was out there. She destroyed her peppermint there was nothing left   :~
Hoping to see Matt and Anna come back and improve some more

Really wish I could have made it out this weekend, sadly work and family obligations had me tied up.  But looks like you all had a great weekend!   ..:..

I dropped by to claim a spot on the line Saturday and Sunday morning.  Unfortunately I had commitments Sunday afternoon, so I missed the final AQT grind :(

My goal for the weekend was to blow rust off my skills. get my .22's sighted in, verify that my Garand was functioning and get it sighted in, and see if I could set a new personal high score.  Unfortunately I succumbed to afternoon fade and had to satisfy myself with a 216 on Saturday.  On Sunday, I managed to get first hand experience with "M1 thumb", and blew that AQT pretty badly, but I still left with a smile, not much beats being on the line with a Garand surrounded by good students having a great time.

I got lots of good pictures, which I'll post up this evening.
