OK, so I'm thinking maybe it's time for me to buy my first 10/22 to take to shoots as a loaner.  So I'm at Buds and this #1296 catches my eye.

Likes: stock is adjustable in LOP and also has an adjustable cheek rest.  Great for accommodating kids.
Buttplate is rubber and has a proper curve, unlike the slick plastic reverse curve standard buttplate.  Also has a rear stud.
Stainless barrel and folding stock is a plus for backpacking.
Underside Picatinny rail a plus for attaching a stud.

Dislike: no apparent way to install a Tech Sight front post.  ???

How about it you 10/22 gurus; how can I use Tech Sights on this?

That one would be my dedicated scope loaner. Perhaps even a red dot.

That would be my 795.  Wanted one with irons.

I'd just get a take-off barrel with a dove tail and replace the one on the rifle.

If the barrel is thick enough, which it seems to be, a decent smith could easily machine a dovetail into the top of it for the front sight.

If the flash hider is removable, you might be able to install one of these: http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/sights/front-sights/ruger-10-22-front-sight-prod42911.aspx?avs|Make~~Model_1=Ruger__10zz1zz22

But I would think that if you already have the TS, getting the dovetail made would cost about the same money.

If that is the one with the ATI stock ask if the angled down adapter is included.  Otherwise it is a bit high  to use with iron sights.  This is just a piece that fits betweem the sliding tube on the stock anf the hindge.  It is included with the stock but I do not know it it is included in the packagecdeal you are looking at.

There was a woman that had this set up and I think ended up putting a scope on it as she couldn't get a good sight picture with irons as it was set up.

I used this stock with both of my daughters.
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery
