Looks like the drought may finally be starting to ease. Using gunbot.net, have come up with several bricks of ammo at somewhat reasonable process over the past week or so.  Prices are falling here at gun shows, too. Got a brick of Federal match from Midway for 9 cents per round, and a brick of American eagle for 4 cents per round.

Supplies should be looking better for the fall shoots.....

i actually picked up 3 boxes of CCI Mini Mags yesterday. Haven't seen them on the shelves in months. I hope it is getting better. I have a couple of Rifles i built on 10/22s and I want to shoot them.

Actually found .22 LR ammo at Bass Pro in St. Charles, MO at 5 cents per round this week. One day maximum purchase was 300 rounds - not bad.

I've gotten three bricks of ammo from Midway in the past week, at very reasonable prices.  They've posted Federal Premium Gold Medal for $38 and American Eagle for $28.

It is getting better, but timing helps!  7,000+ rounds purchased at my local Walmart, so far this year. 2500 of it redistributed to 'seeders.  Remington (225s) CCI (375s and 100s), Winchester (100s and 1000s) but no Federal so far.

My local Walmarts seem to get a delivery about once every two weeks. This Friday it was Winchester 555, for the first time in at least six months that I've seen. Arrived in the stores 7:00 am Friday, gone by 10:00 am. And that's with the 3-box limit in place.

No, I don't see any improvement in the retail experience for .22LR. I don't see what would cause the panic buying to change any time soon.

For some reason, CCI  seems to be coming back into supply locally after being virtually unseen for 6 months.  Got some SV at Gander and mini-mags at Walmart last Friday and some Amer. Eagle at Bass Pro 2 weeks ago.  My local shop also had Remington golden bulk pack at MRSP of $25.  The Rem gold is actually a lot more accurate in both my 597's than Federal automatch, or Amer. Eagle, just a lot of duds.

there seems to be plenty of real match ammo out there, like Eley. But it's always been spendy, and it's crazy now.

That's good to hear. I think the dust is finally starting to settle from earlier this year. For now...
The time is now near at hand which must probably determine, whether Americans are to be, Freemen, or Slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their Houses, and Farms, are to be pillaged and destroyed, and they consigned to a State of Wretchedness from which no human efforts will probably deliver them." - George Washington - July 2, 1776

Still dry here in western PA.  I was at walmart the other day and the 22 was gone before she was done unpacking the box of ammo from the truck.
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery

Brothers and Sisters,

CMP still offering Aguila .22 by the 5K case for $260 and $320 plus shipping.  Better to get order in and join line of orderers as am unsure of delivery times.
CMP also has 2013 catalogs by the case; request from CMP Customer Service - great handout at 'Seeds.

PS   Have inquired of Marlin re the Appleseed LTR 795 - no one knows - unfortunate loss of potential positive publicity...and

PPS  Any Appleseeders planning on attending Saratoga Race Course throgh 2 September, 2013, should contact me to arrange the Appleseed tour of Places You Are Forbidden To Go (e.g. the roof, Paddock, Luxury Suites, etc - all better if done during the 7a-9:30a Breakfast at the Track, but also possible during racing...I work every day but Tuesday/dark day - no racing).  My pleasure and a (very) minor perq.

Limit 1/day, but the website has had it in stock for the last 4 days so I'm up to a 'Seed's worth.  If you live near a store, the in-store pickup saves a ton of shipping $$$, especially with a 1 box/day limit breaking the purchase into tiny, expensive pieces.

PSA has CCI Standard for $.11/round, which is a little rich for my blood but I have a bolt action rifle that prints such tiny groups...

excellent point - My CMP  order from February was delivered yesterday.  They still have around a 6,000 case order backlog to workthrough though...
