Project Appleseed

The Hudson Falls Fish & Game Club was once again host to an indoor Appleseed event on Sunday, July 7.  Our thanks to the club members for allowing us the use of their facilities.

This event was almost like a family get-together, as all six of our Sunday only students are repeat Appleseeders who have become as familiar and welcome as family members.  The Loucks family (Dan, Maisey, Kyla & Theresa) and Margaret & Clare Daly spent the day practicing and polishing their marksmanship skills.  Rumor has it that there will be a new Loucks family member attending his first Appleseed in September at SaraSpa.

The instructors consisted of myself, nyrasgt, LittleMo and The Mrs.  As always, they are a great group of people to spend a day or weekend with while teaching folks how to shoot well.  Thanks to all for helping out this weekend!

Using an indoor range during the summer was a unique experience.  The combination of the (relatively) cold concrete and the high humidity caused the floor to sweat throughout the day, and despite our best efforts to ventilate the range there was a solid coating of moisture on the floor.  This required some extra caution while walking to and from the target line.  It was warm and muggy indoors...

...but outside was HOT!  Once we were packing our gear to go home, I was glad to have spent the day in the 'cool' of the indoor range.

We all had a great time Sunday. Our little brother will be joining us at SaraSpa for his first Appleseed.

A big thank you to all the instructors for all the help and encouragement throughout the day. We will continue to dry-fire and practice NPOA.
