Once again I would like to thank the Shelby County Sheriff and staff for allowing us the use of their wonderful facility. On Saturday we had many first time Appleseeders with almost half being junior shooters. The first round of Redcoats was a disappointment to most. However, by the end of the day Saturday there were many smiles on faces as the second Redcoat showed great improvement!

On Sunday, we were back to the AQT grind. We took a small break and posted some plastic redcoat figurines that were quickly shot to pieces! Don't mess with this group Mr. Lobsterback! By the end of the Sunday, 4 shooters had claimed that they knew what they were about and earned the Rifleman's patch. Congrats to Carl, Mike, Tom and Jonathan.

Thank you Mike and CD for stepping up to become orange hats!

I would like to thank all of the attendees for coming out and learning what price was paid for liberty and how it is up to us to insure that the price was not paid in vain. Go out and 7th step. Appleseed will be back at this range July 20th. Thank you to all of the instructors. It was a pleasure to work with all of you.

What a great group of Patriots who turned out at Columbiana for the weekend!  Everyone showed up with teachable attitudes and it showed in the steady improvement of each shooter through the weekend. It was a pleasure to meet each and every one of the participants; their presence made this a quality event for me.  I especially appreciated the interaction, questions, and comments as we delved into the events of 4-19-1775.  When the group gets this involved, we instructors know that our efforts aren't falling on deaf ears.  I'm humbled, once again, by the quality of Appleseeders in the Yellowhammer State.  Bless you all for coming out and striking a blow for Liberty!  I also want to commend the 4 new Riflemen, Carl, Mike, Tom, and Jon, as well as the ladies and gents who were so very close, shooting in the 190s.  Hope to see everyone back later this month.  I believe many can earn the Rifleman title with a little dry fire & practice between now and then.

Matt, thanks for the comment. Not to worry, between Mike (one of our new riflemen) and myself, I think we got some pics for your viewing pleasure.  Stay tuned to this thread for the postings.

I was so close it made me sick. I shot 200 with iron sights but ran into a wall when I ran out of energy. I'm still sick. But I'll be back. I'm determined to do this!!

I'll keep watch here for pics. Thanks!!

Mike~

We had an awesome time. This was the first Appleseed that I was able to go and stay the whole weekend without anyone being pregnant or in the hospital or work calling me in or anything like that.  I was able to take my oldest boy for the third time and my middle son got to go for his first Appleseed.  I was able to pick up my rifleman's patch finally as well as an orange hat.  My oldest was a little upset that his old man patched before he did but he told me that he was not going to stop until he got his patch as well. He also told me that one day he too would like to be able to teach others and possibly wear the red hat which I am totally going to let him try.  I also did take a few pictures and emailed some of them to T Lawley.  Headshot Heather may also have access to them because I text her as well on Facebook. If I can figure out how to I may try to post them on the Alabama Appleseed thread.  But again had a blast can't wait for the July one.
Mike~
