What a great weekend in the Adirondacks, and no better place to spend it then with a bunch of Great Americans on Balloon Fest weekend. Dunham's Bay Fish and Game Club is a great range on the East Side of Lake George, it has a nice scenic mountain back drop. ..:.. ..:..
Thank you Dunham's Bay for hosting our shoot.

We gathered this weekend with 19 shooters, with 7 Families coming together on the line, all very eager to shoot. Young and old alike. There's so much to talk about from this weekend. We shot so many drills.   ~~:) ~~:)

Clare and Margaret with a return match from last weekend at Saratoga, there mom out shot daughter, This weekend they were equally shooting impressively, scores continuing to climb, and shot groups shrinking, nice work.

Theresa, Kyla and Maisey brought their dad with them; dad did all he could to keep up. Was great watch Theresa starting out with a basket ball size shot group, and very quickly reducing it to a golf ball size group. There was nothing but smiles seen on their faces.

We had to take two intermissions this weekend when flocks of Turkeys passed by down range. !@#) !@#) !@#) #) #) :wb:

Luke, Nathan, Clark and Chantelle continued to absorb as much information as they could and apply it. And it worked, they continued to improve their skills, and being club members, stayed after the shoot continuing their journey.

Trish and Bob took a trip from their vacation to join us. And wasn't to long before both were in the rifleman's bubble. Trish went from barely on paper to very quickly shooting groups on target.

Aaron learned that practice pays off and shots count. Listening intently on instruction and applying it proving the program works. Aaron was sporting a 10/22 in the M-1 carbine stock, nice, I did a double take when I saw it.

Our father son team James and Dan our visitors from Vermont, return rifleman continuing their journey. They are always pleasant to have on the line. James always over pushing himself; continues to be an accomplished shooter. James shooting a 201 and 205, so close.

Ann returning from Saratoga last weekend, after removing her equipment issues from her shot, proved to herself, she can still shoot. And that she did.

Nat came Saturday for one day, enjoyed himself, had only signed up for one day, then was going to leave early Saturday for new sights to return Sunday.  Was offered a loaner with the sights he was going to get and stayed, was very pleased he did, his scored showed it.

Being promoted from Cook to Rifleman: :~ :--- :~ :---
Veronica with a 212, 226, 223, and a 231
Bob surprising himself with a 216
Nat with a 221, 213, 217 and a 213.
Nice work

Return Rifleman: :~ :--- :~ ..:..
Ann with a 221, 225, 219 and a 214
Dan shooting with a boltgun shot 234, 224, 224, 224 and a 226, Dan had a 224 rut for a minute. Very nice work with the boltgun.

Thank you to our Instructors for the weekend, The Mrs., LittleMo, Smurf and Gregch44. Nice work and the scores proved it. O0

Thank you to all for sharing your weekend in Lake George.

What a great weekend.  Spending happy times with great people at a wonderful venue.  Thank you Dunham's Bay for hosting us.  You are so supportive of this program.

It was wonderful to see familiar faces and new ones as well and watching some dedicated Americans practicing an All American past time.  Getting more in touch with their heritage.

Thank you shooters and instructors alike for sharing your time with me.

Remember - a Rifleman adjusts, adapts and perseveres.  Never stop learning and practicing!!

Another great Appleseed! This one was my third and I've learned something new each time. Thanks to Shoot Boss R1SGx2; Smurf; the Mrs; Little Mo and Gregch44 for the great instruction and encouragement. I started my journey to becoming a Rifleman at Lake George less than a year ago. Earning the patch wasn't an end to the journey but another point on the continuing journey. I'm looking forward to my next Appleseed.

Cabin Fever

I had a great time at Dunhams Bay.  This is my home range which makes it nice and interesting when game shows up on the range. Last year a Big Buck during hunting season and this year Turkeys two different times.  I want to give a huge Thank You to the instructors in helping me to correct the issues that were holding me back from earning my second riflemens patch. They volunteer to give us their time and knowledge to help all of us achieve our individual goals, including loaning us their equipment.  It can help a lot to see the difference the right equipment can make to one's shooting consistently. Even though I have some good equipment both my patches have been earned with loaned rifles. I am working on getting my equipment issues resolved so hopefully my the third patch will be earned with my rifle.   Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

Throughout her career, it is believed that Annie Oakley taught upwards of 15,000 women how to use a gun. Oakley believed strongly that it was crucial for women to learn how to use a gun, as not only a form of physical and mental exercise, but also to defend themselves.

Another D.O.M.

I have Annie's videos sitting in a folder on my desktop.  Haven't had much chance to do anything with them yet but I'll have some quiet time in the next couple of weeks.  We'll get 'em on the internet with links to view them.

Nice to see Cabin Fever on the range the other evening until dark working on HER rifle, Still driving to make it work for her.

NOTE: She promised me that when she shot rifleman with her own rifle she would then move
on to iron sights, Nice work Annie and for staying with it working the bugs out.

Want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to Greg and Mark  :sos: for the extra time spent outside of appleseed shoots helping me at the range to try to figure out why I can shoot rifleman with other rifles but not my own (yet) :wb: :wb: :wb:.
Had trigger work done, better ammo = less fliers, spare lighter regular stock, now to try modifying the thumbhole to fit my hand better.
Getting closer each time.
..:..
After trying Gregs iron sights on Sunday, im getting Braver  :~ :~ :~   so If Mark brings a rifle with iron sights to Rotterdam and its not needed by someone as a loaner, I promise to try it  O0  even if I don't shoot Rifleman with my own rifle.

4 days out, and your on the schedule, Cabin Fever coming to the line in Rotterdam, now testing herself. Hopefully all the bugs worked out of her rifle when it returns from the shop. Thumb hole grip to large for her hand, trigger finger on front right edge of trigger, pushing instead of pulling, Should have beed picked up at last shoot, realized last night why all shoots were impacting to right. Stock going back on the lift for some fine tuning, THEN back to the line...

Still openings in Rotterdam this weekend,,,, Hint Hint
