Project Appleseed

This is the upcoming Ohio schedule and we are in need of SBs, RHs, &/ or IITs at all shoots. We need your help to staff the shoots, plain and simple! At some point on the AS trail, you all felt like this country was worth saving, at some point you made a promise to yourself and your posterity to do just that, at some point you decided that Appleseed was your chosen venue. Folks it is time to step up and keep that promise to yourself and your future generations. It is just time...

While I am not an Ohio Instructor, I plan on going to a few of the events listed, in particular:

Gibsonburg, OH September 22-23
Zanesville, OH September 29-30 (saturday half day early, and all day sunday)
Gibsonburg, OH October 27-28 (Planning an SBIT)
Miamisburg, OH November 3-4 (Planning an SBIT)

I was planning on Beaver Falls, PA on December 15-16 but will float to Zanesville if needed. If everything works out the shoot in Miamisburg at the beginning of November should be my SBIT3... so I guess I could be pressed into duty after that if I pass. I was thinking of heading down to Ramseur November 10-11, but I guess I could do Zanesville that weekend if the need is there.

I am just being a bit reticent lately on signing up for events too far into the future. I have a couple items out of my control this fall and I am trying to leave my schedule flexible.

I'd love to help PB on the 22nd but this dude I know in Indiana has some how duped one of the best Rifleman Instructors I know into marrying him and I've gotta chaperone. Plus, I bet signing up to SB these events is helping PB quite a bit. 

Edheler, you wanted to "observe" how my events go... here's your chance to do even more than that. You can not only observe, you can run the show! Feel free to work 'em all.

Everyone else - Don't feel like you're stepping on my toes if you wanna SB one of these. I'll gladly step aside and work "for" you. Hope to see you on the trail. And bring some shooters! We need some butts on the line!

Now the rest of you look at all the amazing opportunities  to work with the  -:)  I guarantee it will be the time of your life! Geeez louise, he is one of the reasons I have a redhat---hehehe.

Oct. 27/28 is my weekend off, but I work midnights on Friday.

I can work on Sunday, if you don't mind an IIT doing half a weekend. I'd go to Zanesville, under the circumstances, as it's closest.

There may be another one that I can only do half because of work, too.

Holy cow slim!  That's one way to see that some shoots are covered.  

Seriously, though, if any IIT's or other instructors have not worked with slim before, then do your best to make it to one of these dates.  You should be trying regardless of slim SBing; since he is though, you might as well take advantage of this top notch opportunities.  I've worked with literally dozens of SB's, and there's nothing quite like one of Mohawk's shoots.

It looks like I now have something which is going to occupy this weekend. I will do my best to make it but I have yet to find out how much time the NRA Instructor Rifle Course takes. I have been looking for it for a while and was shocked to see one 8 miles from my house and being done inexpensively. Sometimes having the certification matters to some people, especially in my area. I will use it to help spread Appleseed so, I signed up for the course.
