Another D.O.M.

This was really a nice weekend for an Appleseed.  The weather was seasonal with no rain and low humidity.

This event was attended by 12 shooters total, with five first-time Apple Seeders and eight female attendees.  Three families were present.

Instructors included Josey Wales as SB, Another D.O.M. and Smurf instructing.

As always our students were attentive and eager to learn and practice the skills we taught them.  Improvement was marked throughout the weekend.  Our lone rifleman score shooter was one of the first-time 'Seeders and shot a 216 with a borrowed AR rifle (his own rifle began to malfunction early on Sunday and he swapped it for another).  He followed the 216 with a 210 on the next AQT.

It was good to see the Loucks family return to their third event, and the Dalys returned for their third as well.  We had two Junior Patriots on our line this weekend - Theresa and Amber both shot well and enjoyed a version of Paul Revere's Ride they hadn't heard before.  I hope that next time they'll bring a friend or two along for the fun!

Josey's family was along for this event as well - it was good to see them again after nearly a year.

I'd like to offer a huge thanks to the Dunham's Bay Fish and Game Club for allowing us once again the use of their fine facilities for our Appleseed event.  This club has been very supportive of our program for three years, and the club members we've met have always been a pleasure to speak with.

Growing old is mandatory; Growing up is optional!  :)

Marksmanship can be taught and learned,
but the motivation has to be inspired for the
people to become involved.
How many have you inspired that became involved?

This is a Very Nice Range, and in place was a very good instructor corp. I enjoy working there. Very nice board of Directors.

This weekend for an Appleseed, bet it was a little warm up there. I looked over the list of names of those in attendence, then smiled. It's always nice to see people come back, even nicer when you see them return with someone who hasn't attended an Appleseed. Thank you.

Good job by all.

Picture #5 & #6 are of Dan.  This is Dan's first time at a Project Appleseed event.  He has little rifle marksmanship experience.  Dan's target is proof that the sub-conscious shoot is a better shooter than the conscious shooter. (Thanks to Nickle for teaching me that. Nickle feel better soon!!)  That square target was shot with the black squares hung backwards.  The shooter knows where about the square boxes are.  The shooter builds the position, gets their NPOA and then checks it and then trusts it.  Then fires the shot at the Rifleman's cadence, a shot with every breath & no fussing the shot.  Look at those groups!!..  We will take credit for that.......... :sb:

Nice job to all involved.

It is so nice to see repeat shooters and new ones alike.
