The Alexandria Gun Club was the host to it's first Appleseed weekend. With a start like this, Appleseed has a bright future in this neck of the woods! A big thanks goes out to Jerry who was the spark behind getting Appleseed scheduled here. He did some great promotion and we had 16 shooters on the line for Saturday morning.

The line was a bit cozy but the shooters managed OK and got to know their neighbors.

Getting zeroed in...

We got off to a fast start. The shooters were great learners. We were carding sights before lunch. Here Eben and Ken were paired off.

Royce, Patty and Instructor Mike working together.

It was getting very warm already by 11:30 and we broke for lunch. The lunch was provided by the E. Arthur Brown Co. who's owner and several employees were on the line with us.

Grabbing some shade over lunch break...

After lunch it was back out in the sun for more instruction and drills. By the end of the day we had two new Rifleman!

Congratulations to Tim with at 227!

Congratulations to Royce who brought home a 220! These are men who know very well what they are about.

Our young shooters. Great job girls!

Thank you shooters for spending your weekend with us! Great job all. Thanks too for all the help cleaning and packing up on Sunday afternoon. You sure made it easy on Mike and me.

We hope to be back to Alex again yet this year for another weekend. We've been scheming on some easy modifications to the range so we can add another 4 slots on the line for the next shoot. Hope the plans come together.

Thanks again to the club for hosting us and to Jerry and Eben and the crew for great promotion to get the line filled. We had to turn away 2 walk-ons on Saturday because we didn't have the room.

Outstanding work, gentlemen.   New range, full to capacity, just the way we like it.

2 new riflemen?

Correct, 2 more MN Riflemen. That was on just the first AQT of the weekend. There would definately been more but 1/2 the Saturday crew couldn't make it backfor the second day and missed out on the AQT grind.

Overall there was nothing special about this group of shooters. Just your average Appleseeders that rank somewhere in the top 1% of all Americans. The very best!

A big "Thank You" to the E. A. Brown crew for providing grilled venison and lamb(?) wieners and all the fixins for lunch on Saturday! Hope to see you all back on the line soon to turn those baby carbines loose let 'em run. Mine is already ordered!

I know Steve will be back making good use of that Rifleman Opportunity Card.

It's a great little range and the club is already seeing some positive results s from Appleseed by picking up new local members who hadn't previously known about the club. With a little eager use of a weed wacker and maybe some minor shoveling, I think we could add another couple spots on the firing line.

Patty/pateabco already has a list of possible dates for later this year and plans to make a proposal at the next meeting. And when it hits the schedule, you better register early!

It was an honor to spend the weekend with all of you!
