Another great and wonderful weekend, spent with the best people in the country.  Although a somewhat smallish group, 10 in all,  they more than made up for it with determination, persistence and patience.  The true traits of an American and a Rifleman. The same stuff that founded the country.  Wow!!!  What a great group of students. I wish I had a video of their transitions.  It looked like ballet.  Beautiful, just beautiful.

We all learned a ton of stuff and had a great time.

More tomorrow.

Thank you all for putting up with me,

colycat

We had a great time at our first Appleseed shoot.  I will be highly recommending an Appleseed shoot to three friends who were already curious, and three other friends and/or family members (including my wife!).  Both my brother and I will be attending again next year, hopefully with several more shooters.  Great weekend, and great weather as well!

Janir

I've gotta thank Colycat and all the instructors there on Sunday ( and previous Appleseeds) as I finally made Rifleman! Perseverance pays off! Thank you all!

Another great Appleseed event at my home range RCLRC.  Sorry to say it's been exactly 1 year ago since my last AS.  That work thing and "The Honey Do" list seamed to get in my way to much this year. Still no Rifleman for me or Haley. But we are knocking hard on that door (170, 180, 190). I really thought Haley would get it this time. We went out and sighted in and practiced a little the weekend before the shoot. She did really well, but she is persistant and so am I.

Gotta thank Colycat, TriggerNick, Endpoint, Rick and all the great pepole for another great AS. It was a great group, like Colycat said. We shot off more rounds than I have ever fired at any of the previous 3 appleseeds I have been to so far. We got to do a couple of things that I have not done before. I got to break in a new AR, what better way to do it than at an AS. Great weather, great pepole, great event, it doesn't get any better than this!  O0  We both will be back, probably at the end of the month in Bristol.

Colycat: Haley will be posting tomorrow. I will be picking her up after school and get her on the forum then. She's thinking of a good user name to use between today and tomorrow, we have a couple of ideas. You got any good ideas?

PS. I will put up with you anytime Colycat, you ran a great Appleseed O0

Old Squid,

I think Haley's commit would be ok, since she shows up once in a while and shines soo bright.  Maybe Commit would work.  Or Haley.

It was such a treat to have you and Haley back on the line.  Did she or you ever stop smiling?

The spelling might be wrong on commit.  I am thinking of the bright thingy that burns bright in the sky.

Colycat,

It's funny you should say Haley's Comet.  That's what we were thinking of one possibility. She was actually named after the comet.  She was born in 1997/1998 when Haley's comet returned last time. So that would be my vote also. We'll let her decide...

MIMB

My first appleseed and a newbie to rifle shooting also. A super event, and excellent venue (live in Racine and would love to be a member there), fantastic folks in the class, and excellent and patient instructors. I recommend this as a great investment to anyone wanting to learn rifle shooting and marksmanship.

Many thanks to Colycat, TriggerNick, Endpoint, Rick..... Colycat you and the guys ran an excellent class.

I will practice what you taught this winter (maybe I can swing the Sat at Bristol later this month depends upon work) and see you next year. I appreciate your knowledge, your patience, your willingness to teach, and your commitment to this.

Thank you to the RCLFC and its members for hosting this great event. And did the weather ever cooperate especially after what we had during the week.

Thank you all!

Trig

Good to see you all on the board!  I'm sure we will have more pics up later.  Thanks again for coming, and remember... Learn to shoot today, teach to shoot tomorrow!!

we'd love to have each and every one of you back again (with friends of course!!)   ~~:)

endpoint

Thanks Colycat, Reckless Rick and TriggerNick for this shoot!  I was working in club capacity this time and the club thanks you and all the shooters for a safe and well run event.

I'm signing up to instruct at Bristol on Oct. 29 - 30.  If you're knocking on the door to get that Rifleman's patch (or even if you don't think you're quite knocking yet), join us there and bring a friend!

MIMB, I'd be glad to sponsor you as a member of RCLRC.  PM me your phone number and we'll start working on it.

Old Glory!

I hear this is one of those Appleseeds where the students really shined!

Must have something to do with that dazzling Haleys Comet.   ^:)^
"My primary objective is to change hearts and minds, for that is where the gaping hole in the hull of the USS America lies. I am looking to make a spark and praying that it will ignite, by their own will, into a bonfire in their hearts and souls."  PHenry

"Folks, this Appleseed thing doesn't work if we get a patch and go home. It doesn't work if we shoot a Rifleman score and remember the good times we had out on the range. It only works if we take that 7th Step and spread the 'seed. HUZZAH!!!"  Slim

April 18-19, 2009  "The seeds of rifle marksmanship were sown in good ground.  In the end, then, every attendee walked away as an instructor for their friends, family, coworkers.  May you tend your patch in Liberty's garden well and through a long life."  Francis Marion

Thank you Colycat, Triggernick and Rick for running another stellar Appleseed event. Your commitment to the organization and training ability are truly appreciated. Could Sunday have been a more perfect day on the firing line? I am looking forward to taking a crack at the full distance in 2012. I also hope to be in attendance when Haley shoots Rifleman - because Haley, you WILL do it.

Good to see you again Endpoint, we will have to get together soon. Like Endpoint, I am an RCLRC member and would be happy to sponser Appleseed shooters into the club. If interested, send me an email.

HEY HEY!  New Rifleman here.  Just wanted to thank all the instructors for an awesome clinic.  I learned so much and had a ton of fun.

Thanks also to Goju for the use of his beautiful 10/22 and all the ammo

I plan on coming back for another Appleseed, this time with iron sights, and hitting 210+ again.

This was one of the best weekends of my entire year!  Everybody was so cool.

Tiggernick was a big help, rick gave me tons of awesome input and feedback and colycat kept everything moving the the right direction.  Endpoint, you also gave me a few really good tips that helped me hit my 213.

And Wolfie! your tip for shooting from the seated position was definitely the little extra tweak I needed O0

The history lesson was amazing.  I learned more about the revolutionary war standing at that rifle range than I ever did sitting in a classroom.

Thanks again, and great pictures!

Hope to see you all again soon!

BangBang

This is Greg BTW....first one here...

Bang Bang - I have no doubt that you can best your 213 with irons. I will have to live vicariously thru you on that one though.
