What a great weekend for an Appleseed.  The days were hot at 94, but not abusive, mostly due to the wind.  The shooters were committed to improving their marksmanship skills and bravely persisted through the heat, wind and sand.   The shooters are husband and wife, Rob and Kim.  This weekend's shoot was the second for both of them.  Rob and Kim built upon their skills and, although they didn't shoot rifleman scores, they both shot personal high scores at this event.

Rob and Kim brought a lot to the event with their cheerful personalities, their jocularity, and their teachable attitudes.  Both of the shooters struggled with personal injury issues and yet continued to return to the firing line time after time until they were both worn out on Sunday afternoon.  We were telling them that a Rifleman always persists, and they were true to the spirit!

We spent lunch on Saturday honoring the memory of our forefather's pursuit of liberty through the telling of the Three Strikes.  Devnull and I split the telling of the Three Strikes and Devnull stressed the importance of getting involved in bailing out the sinking ship.

Dangerous Old Men and Women stories were told during lunch on Sunday.

Devnull was the Shoot Boss and ran another enjoyable shoot.

We can't thank the Del Norte Gun Club enough for offering one of their ranges to Project Appleseed.  Thank you!

Great Job, Everyone!  That wind was miserable.  I know the sand on the west mesa gets bad.

Way to persevere!

I'm confused, am I to understand that there were only two shooters?

Sure did miss the opportunity to be out there with you all - except for the never-ending prevailing winds that tend to plague the west mesa!  Kudos to Rob and Kim for coming out for both days and improving their skills despite personal injuries; fine examples of persevering and overcoming!
