The Shenandoah, IA Dedicated Appleseed Range (DAR) hosted their fifth, I believe, Appleseed last weekend.  This range is great, and the land owner and his family are always welcoming both to the program and to us instructors.  A huge thanks to all of the Instructors and IITs who made this weekend a success: Necede, NEEDJOHNGALT, and RODGE.

It was a beautiful weekend in the 70s that may have touched the low 80s.  We had some intermittent precipitation, but the clouds didn't stick around too long on either day.  Saturday we made one new Rifleman and a second one on Sunday.  Here's some photo goodness of the June 11/12, 2011 Shenandoah, IA shoot:

Welcome to Appleseed!

With only three shooters on Saturday, everyone got their own instructor.  These guys brought 2 new shooters for Sunday and another preregistered shooter doubled our numbers to six on the second day.  Nice job Dalton, getting Mom to shoot on Sunday!

Let's talk about inches, minutes, and clicks.

Our first Rifleman of the weekend with a 215.

Our Sunday Rifleman.  Spoiler alert: he's in the process of setting up another range for Appleseeds in Iowa!

Mac3647 accepted the challenge of becoming an Appleseed instructor.

It was a fun weekend with great weather - many of us ended up with sunburned necks.  Everybody had a great time and promised they would be back and bring a friend.  We made two new Riflemen.  We recruited one new IIT.  What's not to love?

A good shoot. Good weather. My thanks to the owner, of that great range, and
his family. This was my second Appleseed in Iowa and the best one yet. Nice to be close enough  to drive home for the evening. Always nice to meet more good
Americans.
Have gun. Will travel.

Thanks to the Nebraska boys for helping out their neighbors and running a good shoot.  That's a pretty good Rifleman/IIT percentage you got out of that small line!
