I was informed by the Shoot Boss on my first Appleseed shoot yesterday that the iron sites on my Ruger 10/22 All Weather are poor quality. I need some advice on replacement sites and hope someone can help.

If you are going Iron Sights with a 10/22, Tech Sights are the way to go.  However, by the time you spend the FRNs on Tech sights & an adjuster, you could almost have you a Burris 2x7 Ballistic Plex.  Or you could have a Konus fixed 4x w/rings with money to spare.

If you are wedded to irons (and I love irons), Tech Sights are the way to.  If you are over 40 and your eyes are aging, a low power scope might be a better option for a similar amount of FRNs.

Eel sells Tech sights on "Deals &Steals". I put them on my 10/22. They work great!

I recently shot rifleman with my tech-sighted 10/22. They worked great. The only drawback that I noticed is that they do not adjust in small increments. 1 click seemed to be about 1 MOA or so.

I would echo the advice of NMNI9100.  I found that I simply could not see the 400 yard target with my aperture sights and eventually had to get a scope.  If you are older or optically challenged then I suggest you check yourself by putting a 1 inch square out 25 meters and see if you can clearly see it before investing in the open sights.  Another item: your Ruger all-weather probably does not have sling swivels.  Having a sling is very important to improving accurate shooting.  Good luck!

FYI, She has 2 10-22's... one scoped and one w/ irons. She really wants to learn to shoot with opens. Thanx to all who echoed my suggestion to her !!!
