The key word for this shoot was PERSISTENCE.
We have had a very wet spring, and the foecast for this weekend was more rain. Fortunately the clouds held off until the late afternoon on Saturday, allowing us to get most of the instruction covered. Sunday it rained all day. We set up canopies to try and keep the shooters relatively dry, but between the already-soggy ground and more moisture from above, everyone was quite wet and muddy. We had several shooters who were very close to getting Rifleman scores and they wanted to keep trying, but by Sunday afternoon it was obvious they had hit the wall and weren't going to make it that day.
Nine shooters on Saturday, seven on Sunday, one Rifleman and four very close to making the grade.
Practice, PERSIST, and you WILL make it. I hope to see you all back in July.
Thank you to all the shooters and my instructor team for attending and PERSISTING during much less than ideal circumstances.

Lima Tango

Some very good scores and good shooters were there! It is tough to get everything right while laying for hours in the mud trying to get a decent sight picture through chilly rain! Proctor Fish & Game was a very nice range with good staff. Good luck to all the soon to be riflemen! Keep shooting by the numbers and you will all EARN your patch!
