Just want to say thank you to all the instructors.

The history you taught in Appleseed was really inspiring.  I'm immensely grateful for those who gave their lives bravely so that the posterity can enjoy this freedom, as well as newcomers like me.

The way of preserving the heritage by teaching people marksmanship is refreshing. I look at this as an opportunity to prepare for the future.

Thank you again for the great instruction and all the efforts and sacrifices you put in it. I think you make your forefathers proud.

It is a privilege and a pleasure to have students so motivated.  I hope we see you again soon, Tofu San (I love that screen name!)

Old Dog

My forefathers forefathers died in various countries across Europe.  Where they struggled to survive and most likely fought with each other more than a time or two over the years.

Then one of them decided to bring his family with him and travel to a new place (not yet a country at that time) where they'd heard that a man with faith in himself and his maker could go to start a better life for his children and the children of his children.  He did what was necessary to bring them here and start that new life.

Then, over the years some of his descendents went back to Europe and fought against the (now) distant relatives in a struggle to secure that new future.

That, to me, is what makes what we have so special.  If this country isn't the best place in this world to give your descendents the best chance of building a safe and secure future why in the world are folks still loading up and coming here, even after all these years?  Even if some of the folks living here now have forgotten that it is obvious that around the world there are a lot of folks who still see America as my forefathers did and still want that bright future for their children's children's children.

Isn't that what we're supposed to be doing - helping those who have forgotten why they are here to understand how special it is and why they need to work to preserve it and make it better.
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."
