This Appleseed's weather was perfect for early winter in central NC. Blue skies both days and temp's near 50*. 9 shooters on Saturday and 7 shooters on Sunday. We started the day with the welcome/safety briefing and then had the shooters bring their rifles down to line firing line. First course of fire was the "Hits Count/Red Coats" target. Next came instruction on the prone position, GI web sling, hasty sling and loop sling, 6 steps to firing the shot, natural point of aim, inches minutes clicks, and Rifleman's cadence.

We broke for lunch and Lawrence told the 'first strike' of the 4/19/1775 story while the shooters ate in the clubhouse. Next course of fire included the standing and sitting positions as well as transitions from standing to sitting/prone. We took another break for the 2nd and 3rd strike of the 4/19/1775 story and then shot one AQT and then closed the day by firing another Red Coat target. Lawrence then gave the benediction and we called it a day.

After a review of Saturday's instruction and more Dangerous Old Men history we started the day with a fresh Red Coat and a couple 4 M O A squares. We shot AQT's the rest of the afternoon and by 4pm we had 3 new Rifleman. Congratulations to everyone who persisted all weekend long.

I'd like to thank Lawrence, CplTurner, RIP, Toshbar, and Fred for helping Instruct this weekend's Appleseed.
