Hey all pineappleshot here I have finally settled in here in San Antonio. I am from a much smaller group of instructors in Nevada. So I am very excited to get a bit more active in spreading the word down here in SA. I would just like to know the process and Any ideas folks might have for spreading the wors in San Antonio and if anyone here in San Antonio would want to team up and start spreading the word here and in hopes get a range closer to San Antonio

Hey Spit, you are getting real high tech on me ... Facebook, Twitter ... I am Facebook challenged and never been on Twitter  #) **)  ... but, I'll check'em out.

Meanwhile, Pineappleshot ... Glad to have a Nevada transplant here in Central Texas.   :)  A good way to get going here in Texas is get to know the instructors locally.  You have Labrat in Smithville, didactic in Bastrop, dragit in New Braunfels, zonkertx in San Antonio, POP in Corpus Christi, EyeQ in Corpus Christi, Big D in Lockhart, Tom in Lockhart, a couple of new instructors in Fredericksburg keepmvng and ?, Will in Blanco, and as you branch out from there a host of other instructors.  I wanted to introduce you to BDG in McAllen in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.  BDG is VP of a range in Pharr Tx which will have its first Appleseed event January 29-30.  The Pharr Rifle & Pistol Club is a superb venue for Appleseed and we want to make a good show for that event.  Any way you could see your way clear to help out?  Contact BDG by PM.  Bring a few friends with you to Pharr and enjoy some Rio Grande Valley hospitality.

Glad to have your enthusiasm.  Fredericksburg and Smithville are probably the closest ranges to San Antonio.  Zonkertx will have a better handle on that.  Keep talking it up and it'll happen.

Welcome to the area, Pineappleshot!

I just work in SA, but live an hour's drive up 281 in Spring Branch.  Plenty of local ranges, but the closest one that hosts Appleseeds is up in Fredericksburg.  I make all the FBG shoots, and hit Davilla and Corpus Christi when I can.  Locally, I mostly shoot at Dietz near New Braunfels and sometimes Cedar Ridge, which is also up that direction.  Have been to a couple of others around SA, but not in a long time.

If my schedule manager (wife) doesn't have the 29-30 weekend planned out for me, I'll be heading down to see BDG.  It's awful pharr to drive, though.  (couldn't resist the pun, as usual!)

When I visited san antonio I went to the bullethole shooting complex rent a machinegun. I know they have a rifle range with berms at 100,200 and 300. And they have a 50yd rifle range. But doesn't look like it has many spots, though they do allow fmj which is nice compared to the dfw.  But it could be a good place to see if you could leave some flyers on the counter.
