This was another great Appleseed down at the home range in Ramseur,NC. The weather was perfect both days with temps in the mid 60's both days with sunny skies.  We ran a very normal Appleseed with P Shooter calling the line in the morning and Lawrence running it in the afternoon. After covering the prone position, web sling, 6 steps to firing the shot, NPOA, Inches Minutes Clicks, talking targets, Rifleman's Cadence, and Ball and Dummy we broke for lunch. P Shooter gave a great version of the 1st strike 4/19/1775 story and then we covered the standing and sitting positions . Lawrence told the 2nd and 3rd strike of the 4/19/75 story. We only got to shoot 1 AQT then we ended the day with the last redcoat target and the benediction.

Sunday started with a M1 breakdown class in the clubhouse and a little after 12:00 we began firing on the 1st redcoat of the day. Lawrence ran the 25 yard range and I got the 500 yard range ready with targets set up from 100-500 yards. Wildman set up the Pop-Up targets at the 200, 300, 400 and 460 yard line. Shooters on the 25 yard line shot multiple AQT's all afternoon. At the end of our day we had 1 new Rifleman, he shot at 211 on the last AQT of the day. We had a few shooters get in the 190's and low 200's. They'll be back with the fire in their belly, hungry for the PATCH! We had one of P Shooter's Air Force cadets almost clear the last Red Coat of the day(she barely missed the 250 square). I looked at her target and surmised that she hadn't made the NPOA shift to that square(she agreed), it's good to know that by the end of the 2 day shoot that her target was talking to her and she understood what she had done wrong. She'll get the patch at her next Appleseed, I'm sure of it.

It was so nice to see a few repeat shooters with their kids. People from all walks of life in attendance learning about their American heritage and the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship. It was a pleasure meeting everyone and I hope to see you all soon on the Appleseed Trail.

I'd like to thank all of the Instructors for running a great Appleseed. Lawrence, P Shooter, Law Man, Hawkeye, Toshbar and Wildman. A big thanks to RIP for taking the Orange Hat.

Another great Appleseed weekend - our fourth. All four kids with me but only one both days.

Many thanks and kudos to our shoot boss and the orange and red hats that gave up their weekend for the cause!

Thanks!
